「Incredible. Hard to explain the hotel, the pool, the food of the Asian restaurant. So good. And the views of the volcano… what an amazing hotel and location」

「Beautiful accommodations at the Arenal Volcano just outside downtown La Fortuna. The location is perfect. The grounds are incredible. The rooms are very charming. The included breakfast was also a nice touch (limited menu but everything is cooked to order plus fruit, juices, coffee, etc). The staff are astounding and super helpful. There was some mildew in the bathroom and the water pressure is very high, but otherwise the bathroom was very well kept.」

「We loved the location next to the ecological reserve, and the view from the restaurant was remarkable. Amenities and grounds were also first-rate. But the best thing about the Lagarta was the friendly and professional staff! The only downside was the poor roads leading up to the hotel. 」

「Great property, great service. Food was under-seasoned but otherwise very good. Room (junior suite) was fantastic with private thermal pool. The only big negative was a horrible mattress. It was like sleeping on cement floor. I have been in severe pain the whole vacation as a result. Front desk and housekeeping did not provide a solution saying the mattresses are brand new. No softer mattress or topper available. No attempt to fix the issue. 」

「Loved the food, staff, pools and beaches. Only critique is this, the game room isn't up to your resorts standards. Get a decent pool table, a real ping pong table. A card table, a dart board and maybe some TV screens. 」

「I arrived later night, the front desk person was called by knocking the door to process my room. Unfortunately they said there is no king size bed which I paid for. I had to sleep since next early morning had meeting,so no time to complain for 2 queen beds. Next day I asked again for king size, they changed my room to king size room. The room is good, only One noise of window. Other then that 2 issues, everything was perfect.」
