A great city but expensive, gets crowded on roads. Downtown area has no parking spots, Most attractions & tourist spots are 1.5 to 3 hrs away. Lot of mountain driving experience needed, Main roads & hwys are good but has many tolls.

San Jose is just a pass through when on your way to the beautiful beaches, rainforest, etc. Ticos (Costa Ricans) are lovely people, just beware of pick-pockets.

A typical capital city with high tourist prices and colonial buildings. Learn Spanish if you like to visit San Jose. I love it
"Perfectly fine clean hotel 1 minute from the airport in case your flight gets in past 2pm. Very decent breakfast included before you begin your journey the next morning would def stay again. "
