We loved everything about this hotel - the property itself, staff was very helpful, food was delicious and service in restaurants impeccable, room was cleaned perfectly every day. My husband and I stayed here with our kids (ages 10-21) and the whole family loved it! The resort was clean, well kept, had beautiful views around every corner. The thermal springs are both easy to get to and tucked away and despite the busy tourism week, never felt overcrowded.

We had a great stay. The resort, while at full capacity according to the staff, felt exceptionally quiet and private. The pool and thermal pools were lovely and very well maintained. The breakfast buffet was amazing with a variety that suited adults and a nine-year-old. And the view! Waking up to a view of the lush landscape and volcano was breathtaking. The resort was a close drive to town and activities but set back from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend, Manoa!

From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff set the tone for our stay. Angelica at the front desk and Michael the bellhop were true standouts—their attentiveness and genuine care made us feel well supported from check‑in through departure. They elevated our appreciation for the entire team. The property itself is stunning, surrounded by lush greenery with beautiful volcano views from almost every angle. Because this was a last‑minute booking, we stayed in several different room types. Each offered a unique perspective of the grounds, but the rooms felt fairly standard compared to the beauty of the property overall, and each change felt like a noticeable downgrade. The lack of a gym was also disappointing. The highlight of our stay was the Chato Suite. While the room itself was simple, the private outdoor area—with its own thermal pool—was unforgettable and absolutely worth the premium. By comparison, the Premium Suite was fine but awkwardly designed, with a Jacuzzi that doubled as a shower and was difficult to get in and out of. Our final room, a Junior Suite, felt like a typical hotel room, though the volcano view remained its best feature. Overall, while the rooms themselves were not extraordinary and the absence of a gym stood out,

Booked a “premium suite” and paid a premium price for a suite that has no dedicated shower. The shower is a handheld inside a huge jacuzzi tub with no shower curtain! Your bathing options are to fill and drain an enormous spa size tub or slip & slide on uneven jacuzzi seats spraying water everywhere. The hotel response “you booked a jacuzzi suite”. Apparently not an issue they fail to mention the suite has no shower. The grounds are nice but the rooms and resort are dated and frankly this “premium” suite and tub/shower is a joke. Management called to offer a different room at 8pm on our last night … a but late. Friends traveling in our group had a similarly dated non-premium suite … but at least their unit had a proper shower! This is a 3 star resort at best and if you like a shower be sure to confirm what you’re getting or better yet stay elsewhere.

One of the best resorts we have lived in. The pool and hot springs were amazing. Our boys loved the pool and the view of Arenal Volcano from the pool was amazing. The staff was very courteous and great service. The property is beautiful and rooms are very nicely done. The view of mountain from the room early morning was very relaxing and fun. The location of this resort is also in also perfect for all activities around La Fortuna.

The individual casita with self parking in front was great. Units were clean and the a/c worked great. All the staff on property were friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast buffet and hot spring pools.. The view of the volcano was superb. The property had beautiful tropical landscaping. We will be back again!

Absolutely over the hot springs and spa the most. The spa was placed in the last relaxing possible atmosphere on the planet, and we wish we had time for a second visit. The hot springs were never too busy, and we liked that there were different depths, temperatures and sore adults only areas. The view of the volcano was unbeatable. Loved the huge bathrooms in the room and private driveway. We booked a private driver to the airport through the hotel and it was the best decision. Freddy did a great job despite the fog and got us to the airport in plenty of time.

Beautiful hotel, lovely pool, friendly staff. Only slight disappointment was the view from the room where we could see the volcano but also the roof of the next lodge. Otherwise it was a fabulous hotel.

It was so enjoyable to walk around the grounds. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of wildlife to see. There were two sloths near check in and a Glock of birds roost in a tree at night near a walkway. In the morning there is a group of turkey like birds that walk around. We went to several pools and restaurants. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall a very nice place to stay.

My mom and I had such a wonderful time at the Manoa Resort. The staff was incredibly friendly, and wanted to point out Jose, the bartender, who made us feel right at home. He was so welcoming and kind, which made our trip even more memorable. We highly recommend this resort and will be sharing our experience with friends and family. I will definitely be back in the near future.

The room was average. I liked the villa style, but the rooms were basic, and in the washrooms I could hear the people in the villa next to me the entire time when they were in the bathroom showering or using the toilet. No insulation as I could hear their conversations. There was lack of hot water, perhaps warm at best. The hot stone massage was amazing, but other than that I felt the staff to not be friendly. Often not being acknowledged most of the time. Buffet breakfast could use some changing rather than the same things everyday. Overall for the dollar value, wasn’t really pleased.
