「The hotel is really beautiful, the views are amazing, the villas are very spacious and the room hat also an amazing view! everything is really clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Just FYI: you really need a 4x4 to get to the hotel. We would definitely come again!」

「The location of the property is beautiful, set back from the road and elevated for a great view of the Pacific. We particularly enjoyed the Happy Hour each day at 5:00 to enjoy the fabulous sunsets. The pool, the colorful plants, the toucans, tanagers, orapendulas and numerous other birds added so much to our visit. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Our 5 days spent at Cristal Ballena were top notch!」

「Superb property up on the Uvita mountains. As long as you have a 4x4, getting there is a fun ride. Staff was great and the spa facilities are really nice. The only thing keeping me from returning for a whole remote work week is the internet speed. It was spotty and not reliable for a prolonged work stay.」

「Consider this more of a rustic camping-like experience. Cabins have screens, but bugs still come in. Incredible location! Spider monkeys were swinging above our cabin every morning, holwers start up at day break, and capuchins befriended us at the beach. Scarlett macawas everywhere, we saw them constantly, as well as toucans. The beach immediately out front is wavy and rough, but my kids still jumped in the waves daily. The highlight is San Josecito beach, a 17 minute walk along the ocean....

「After a very long day in shuttles from Puerto Viejo, Gilberto was a very gracious, friendly and welcoming host. He quickly got us into our room and albeit "Happy Hour" was over, he set us up with a couple beverages and let us get settled. Our room had all the amenities we needed with a nice balcony and view of the tropical gardens.
