"Attentive staff, beautiful beach, comfy rooms"

"Our room was beautiful, comfortable and spacious. We loved the pool and ocean access, and lounging on the beach. The staff at Casa Altamar were the best we met on our 2 week trip to Mexico. They were so kind, accommodating and thoughtful. Tulum is a unique destination, with different "zones," each with their own vibe. Casa Altamar is north of the town center and "party" beach area. That means you get a quiet and secluded beach (huge plus!) It is a 15min drive to town if you want to explore...

"Like everything in Tulum this place is pretty pricey. The staff are great, the rooms are nothing fancy and the drinks are very expensive -- $20+ CAD for a Margarita is just weird. Location is terrific right by the ocean but be sure to focus meal budget in town where the meals are far more reasonable than along this strip. Best to have access to a car as there isn't much to do here besides enjoy the beautiful views and take in the beach air. "
