Our stay at Unico was incredible easily the nicest resort we’ve ever visited! From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like royalty always friendly, kind, and helpful. Since we booked through Expedia, we got a free room upgrade to a stunning swim-up suite, plus spa credits that covered 65% of our massage cost, which was great since spa prices are very high. The food was amazing no buffets (except breaky), just beautifully presented meals at top-notch restaurants, plus 24/7 room service and poolside options. Everything we ordered came hot and exactly on time, with such kind staff delivering it. There were fun daily water activities like spin and aqua fit. The entertainment team made it extra special, Sebastian and Papi Chulos kept us laughing, Ricardo taught the best dance classes, and Manu made bingo so fun! Their energy was infectious! We also loved seeing gentle coatis, iguanas, and lizards around the resort such a cool touch! We also loved that the staff seemed to respect them a lot and let them just do their thing! Lastly I want to give a huge shoutout to our amazing concierge Raul, he was truly a blessing for us he booked all our reservations right when we got there which we were so thankful for! He checked in on us everyday, he made an effort to ask where we were and came to find us at the pool just to chat and ask us if we needed anything! His english was absolutely perfect as well which made him very easy to communicate with and answer any questions we had!

Very clean and well maintained. Overall employees were friendly but a few not so much. upgraded Swim up pool room was great, Food 7/10. Room service was better than most restaurants. Did not like you could not just check in, long spill to get you to attend membership presentation. Had to have reservations for restaurants. This is more a relaxing atmosphere, not much nightlife. great for Honeymoon.

We had the most amazing stay at Unico Resort in the Riviera Maya. The property is beautiful—modern, elegant, and immaculately maintained. The quality of service was exceptional across the board, but a special thank you goes to Janet, our personal concierge. She went above and beyond to make our trip seamless and personalized. Whether it was helping with reservations, arranging activities, or just checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, she was incredible! Unico was very clean and quite property. The food and the drinks were excellent. All staff were friendly. Our concierge, Eduardo, was kind and checked in on us daily. He answered any questions we had without delay. This is definitely more of a stay at the resort and chill at the pool kind of place. Harder to go into town when compared to Cancun.

Overall it was a very solid experience. Food was good and service was great. Cocktails were the thing they did best, everywhere we went they were delicious. Food options did feel a bit limited after a few days. The resort had a horrible smell as you got close to the beach because of seaweed. More so than other places in area so would encourage they increase clean up efforts. While not totally their fault made using the pool only option and smell carried over to the pool area too. Not hotels fault but cab situation was a bit of mess and pricing was all over the place (generally incredibly expensive / inflated) making it economically impractical to leave resort (e.g., round trip to Tulum 30 mins away was $200 or playa del Carmen was $160). Rooms were good, but felt a bit “dirtier” than you would expect for a place of this quality. I probably wouldn’t go back, but could understand if others enjoyed it more than I did.

The property is great, the rooms are good size. The property is located in the middle of a big road between playa del carmen and Tulum and there’s nothing around. You need to take a taxi if you want to go downtown Tulum, or playa del Carmen and the taxi prices are ridiculously expensive. You can’t take uber in here. I would recommend this place if you have a car or if you plan to stay in the hotel the whole time.

Hotel "orientation" hits you at check-in and is a thinly disguised hour+ long ploy to get you to join their paid hotel club. Intermittent harassment throughout our stay. Service providers are warm and kind people, but the service is very slow. Very, very, very slow. Took over an hour to get a pool towel after request. Some food/ drink orders never showed up at all. Beach is... disgusting. Four-foot-tall drifts of kelp, mulch, garbage, and other waste are not present on the nearby public beach, but in foul-smelling abundance here. Bonus: you can buy weed there... if that appeals to you! The food is good, but almost everyone in our group experienced some gastro-duress. I got full-blown gastroenteritis, and although broth and saltines were available in the restaurants, I could not get room service to deliver either of these items to me. I kinda wish I had bought some weed for the nausea. I can't comment on much else, as I was in bed for 3 of the 5 days there, but the time-share approach to orientation after paying $435 a night was enough to put me off from visiting again.

We truly enjoyed the stay. The property had simple lines beautifully decorated and very relaxing. Our favorite part was no children. The beach was not the best but was due to the time of the year with the sea algae. Beds are very comfortable and you get a choice of what type and how many pillows you want. Also, you get to choose the aroma therapy for the room. They only have 4 restaurants, our favorite was the Italian but Al of the restaurants have amazing food.

This was my 2nd time visiting this resort and it never disappoints. I was given a personal concierge who made dinner reservations for the entirety of my stay, she sent daily schedules for activities and messaged me every morning and throughout the day to ensure my satisfaction.

We loved everything about the property! Especially our host, Janet, who arranged all of our incredible excursions for us, and even had a nice bath waiting when we got home. We felt like every meal was delicious. There were no shortage of options and we really felt like we were living in luxury. Also recommend the excursion with zip lining ATB rides in cave swimming. Also, the Mixology class was awesome! We can’t wait to go back.

Everything on the property was amazing. Everything was very well maintained and clean. The only issue was the seaweed but I know that is not the fault of the resort. We would have liked to get in the ocean however. Our poolside waiter, Marcos, was absolutely awesome. Our concierge, Daisy, was also absolutely awesome. The restaurants were great especially the Asian place. I wish it was closer to Cancun proper so we could have gone to the markets or something like that but that was not an option. There were not many tours offered either. We wanted to go see the pyramids but there was no tour for that. The pool was also very warm, bordering on hot. I think if the resort would build some sort of shade over the pool it will make it much more enjoyable. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend it to my friends.

My husband and I came for a kid free relaxing vacation and the Unico 2087 did not disappoint. We got a swim out room behind one of the main pools and it was a prime location. Not super private if that’s what you are looking for. But we loved the location. The pool waiter would come by and get us drinks and food. We especially love Daniel and Saul made the best drinks. We would enjoy the main pools in the morning and head to our room pool in the afternoon. We were close enough to the main pool we could still enjoy the music. One of my favorite parts of the day was the crafts the resort put on daily. We painted sunsets and did some bead work. It was lots of fun and gave us neat souvenirs. As for the food it was some of the best food we have ever had on vacation. We tried every restaurant but our two favorites were the Mexican restaurant and the Japanese restaurant. Overall if you are looking for an adults only relaxing vacation we great food this is the resort for you.
