"Seems strange but the property was all but empty, off season, yet the room above us was booked with noisy guests and we were put in a room with a parking lot view when better views were available. Upgrading rooms…good thing but was not a bother to us. Some upgrades were done in our condo which were very nice!"

"For those looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay, this is a perfect choice. The owners of the property are very kind and welcoming. Check in was very casual and easy, and I enjoyed the views of the sound. They made sure everything was tidy and clean for guests. Very good choice for those who want something different than a hotel stay. "

"Kitchen was well stocked but refrid needs to be updated with ice maker. Kitchen cabinets and oven were not clean. Outside was poorly lit and there were no street lights which made entering the home at night difficult. "

"We had a wonderful weekend getaway to the OBX and once again stayed at the HGI (my wife's favorite). Our deluxe room was clean and comfortable. The only negative thing we can say is that the HVAC system in the room is extremely loud and that it disturbs our sleep when it turns on and off during the night. Raven at the front desk was friendly and efficient at check-in and when I reported a leaky sink in the room. Rates are a bit pricey, but so is everything else these days."
