"Staff were all exceptional. Particularly Francisco, Enrique, Maria, Vanessa & Francis. Room & pool area very clean and nice. Food at buffet was...buffet food. Meh. Large selection, always about the same. Some items would get hard (had to saw through a crepe with a steak knife) but about what you'd expect at buffett. This place is beautifully expansive but there are some trip hazzards (sunken bricks etc) on the main walkway leading from lobby area to rooms. I was able to get 15,000 steps/day without trying. Great for me but older people & those that may have mobility issues should be aware. Didn't see any monkeys except a little one that had a tight collar and leash that a man brought around the pool area to sell selfies with. It was quite disturbing. Large selection of pools, active and quiet. Very nicely kept. Lots of wildlife, especially coati & deer everywhere. "

"Absolutely beautiful property, loved the walk from the main square to the beach. Beach was great, the option of an ocean swim to a pool swim was perfect! Pools were clean and very nice. Rooms were beautiful, so spacious and well kept. "

"Our greeting was pleasant and cordial, and we were able to use our room a bit early. Room was clean, and sufficiently stocked to meet our needs. The pool was clean and the area monitored regularly by staff. "

"We just got home from a very nice week at the Royal Haciendas! The resort was even nicer than we expected. We had a suite room and it was perfect to have the separate room with 2 single beds for the 2 kids. The food was good and nobody got sick from any of the food which was great. There was a lot of staff always there to help with anything we needed. It was free to use life jackets, pool noodles, snorkeling gear etc. which was a nice touch. The resort isn't too big which was nice with young kids as you didn't have to walk too far to get anywhere. The only con is the ocean is blocked off by sand bags which were a bit of an eyesore. Overall we really loved this resort and would highly recommend it! "

"This is a great place for couples who want to enjoy more upbeat vibes. There's pool foam parties during the day with a DJ. The food and drinks were very good. The ocean is one of the best in the area, i really enjoyed it. The resort is walking distance to 5th Avenue, which my boyfriend and i enjoyed a few nights out on the town. The town bars and nightclubs felt very safe and clean. Highly recommend "

"My friend and I stayed for 4 nights, which felt like the perfect amount of time. The rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds were easy to navigate, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Most restaurants didn’t require reservations (except Teppanyaki), and the food was very good—especially the International restaurant and the taco bar by the pool. One restaurant was closed during our stay, which was a bit unfortunate. The resort caters more to an older crowd, but you can easily take a quick cart ride to the neighboring all-ages resort if you want a livelier atmosphere. The only downside was the beach, which had a lot of sargassum and a strong smell."

"Our room was moldy and the roof started leaking and flooding our room. They moved us to a new room that wasn’t moldy and smelt fine very fast and were nice. Seems like luck of the draw for rooms but if they are fully booked you may not be able to move rooms right away. Everything else was great. Food could use a little more love but still edible"
