I loved the food at the Don Rafael buffet. The staff at this resort were amazing and friendly. The entertainment was great, I just wish there had been more nights like the salsa dancing night rather than American-ized music most nights, but I understand they probably get more crowd engagement with American music.

The resort was well kept and the service was excellent. The food options were good but not fantastic. The drink mixes at the bar were artificial tasting and very sweet. The beach and water were amazing! The pools were over crowded and difficult to find a chair. Overall stay was excellent.

The staff was great. Hotel very clean entertainment was very good. I found the food very disappointing and did not eat much room service was very sub par and a very limited selection.

This was our second visit. Food was not as great as the previous trip. No menu changes at the Fine Dining Restaurants in over a year that we could tell which was a bit disappointing. Several women observed topless which my understanding is not allowed. Smoking on the beach by others was bothersome to most people. Too many chairs around pool are "saved" all day with none ever showing up to use them making it difficult to find one. The worst event / occurrence was my donner at the Japanese Restaurant. My dish came with something "moving" in it and it grossed us all out (Party of 7 on our trip). One of the workers came over to reassure me that "it was normal" to have that and that it was a decoration piece not to be eaten.... That made no sense at all as there was no mention on the menu nor by the wait staff "not to eat the so-called decoration". I would have rated our experience lower but giving this resort the benefit of the doubt. I don't think we will be coming back to this particular RIU resort.

RIU Palace is a top notch Inclusive Hotel! Can't say for sure could be considered the Best hotel in Playa del Carmen ! I'd give the staff 10 stars if it was an option! Cleanliness is superb! Pools and beach are incredible and well maintained! The food overall is 8/10 it needs more variety day to day ! Already booked another 10 days January 2025 !
