"The staff are wonderful, the hotel has a lot of activities for the kids. The pool area and wild life like monkeys, coates, iguanas are fun for the kids to observe. However, our biggest disappointment was the beach, not just feet high piles of seaweed from never ending seaweed coming ashore, but the shore itself was rocky, getting in passed seaweed took effort, cutting feet at the bottom. Just very disappointing to be honest as we are beach people and not pool, and no where online was this mentioned. If you dont care for the beach, then this resort is for you:) Overall a great stay still! "

"We stayed in a Platinum Plunge Pool Suite. I’d recommend you pass on the plunge pool, it doesn’t see any sun- the suite is very private, comfortable. The resort itself is very big, a bit too big for my preference but I’m sure it would appeal to others, they do have a shuttle to help get around quicker when needed - the riviera side was under construction but it didn’t affect the daily activities and we didn’t notice any noise at night. We didn’t get to enjoy many of the a la carte restaurants as they book up way too fast - this was disappointing. The buffet is very well setup with lots of variety - the 24 hour sports bar is a nice spot to enjoy drinks and food in a casual environment."

"The room, property, and amenities were all great. The staff were absolutely incredible! Shout out Paulino and Vanessa. We don’t remember everyone’s names but they were all super helpful and next level hospitality. We arrived and they had a charcuterie board in the room and refilled bottle water regularly as well as coffee pods. We went to playa Del Carmen for most of our groceries and we also visited Puerto Morelos nearby for lunch/shopping and to pick up some more items. We took taxis for both travels and they arrange it through concierge. Jade boutique had grocery, deli, coffee shop and touristy items as well. Restaurants are very expensive around Vidanta especially with the CDN conversion but room service and pool side wasn’t as pricey. Woodfire pizza was delicious. We enjoyed the water park, Cirque du Soleil show and crocodile/flamingo tour on the property. Wonderful holiday 👌☀️ "

"Overall had an excellent stay. It’s a beautiful premises, perfect location, and the staff are very good. We had an ocean view room as an upgrade and was definitely worth the extra $$$. Only reasons for not 5 stars is the lack of swimmable beach (there is a small beach area but no swimming). While the food overall was excellent (both buffet and à la carte), I did pick up a small bout of food poisoning from my dinner one evening. Still overall we were very happy with our stay and can happily recommend this all inclusive in PDC. "

"Our stay was okay overall we went with around 14 individuals and definitely noticed some inconsistencies and issue throughout. First when we arrived many of the rooms had no issue checking in however mine took over an hour working with someone who was “training” at the front desk to get things figured out. I booked 2 connecting rooms with double beds for 6 people. I was worried about sleeping room and not only emailed RIU for a response and was told we were good to go but also did the pre check in room with all of our information. This worker claimed we only ever paid for one room for 3 people and that the others were not included or paid for. Keep in mind I already pre checked with proof and all of my emails and receipts through Expedia and emails through the hotel. He argued with us for over an hour in the middle of the night about us getting our rooms. Then finally realized we had payed. I was not impressed. Why send out a pre check in if it’s not even utilized???? In addition to this the food did make a lot of us pretty sick. Not super great and we were careful due to hearing that the food and water can make you sick. Now on top of all this one of our groups got transferred to the hotel two down from us because they overbooked rooms. How inconvenient!!!! We were offered no alterations to make up for any of this. Half of our group had wrist bands that then only worked at there hotel and were told they could not eat at our hotel throat keep in mind they originally paid for."

"Come here for the waterpark if you have kids, truly remarkable. Staff and service were great. Food high quality with many options. Bathrooms spotless throughout the property. <300 rooms so never felt crowded. They do an amazing job engaging kids of all ages. Very allergy friendly as well. Only gripes- very very small beach not suitable for swimming and only a few loungers. Need for shuttle use around the large property with waits at times. Room's are cozy and the balcony-pool is a more of a novelty, with so many pool/park options not sure why you'd use it. Overall it's not a luxurious hotel for the price point, but it's modern, super clean, and their waterpark is the main reason to go. If you're looking for more of a beach vacation I would research other properties. "
