"If you are looking for an authenticly New York City experience then this is the place to stay! I don't usually write reviews, but the staff at the Hotel St. James clearly take pride in what they do and deserve to be recognized for it! From the maintenance and up keep of this historical building to the overall cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the front desk clerks (with the most NYC accents you've ever heard), it's clear they know what they are doing at this adorable hotel. All of this on top of the affordable prices and the unbeatable location in the heart of Times Square make it the best place in NYC to stay in my personal opinion!"

"The room we were in needs some updates. But smack dead in the middle of NY. Also dont buy anything in their stores it atleast 150% mark up on everyday goods. 1 energy drink usually 3 for 5.50 was 7.50 for one. "

"It is our go-to place when in the city. Love the location! It is in close proximity to Broadway theaters, Times Square, and all that Midtown has to offer, yet it is on a quiet side street. Professional, friendly staff. Fair prices. Beautiful Art Deco building with clean, decent sized rooms (remember, this is NYC). Bell staff is helpful for storing luggage and assisting with transportation. We've always felt safe here. Great place for first time visitors or seasoned travelers."
