"Palmaïa is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at, if not the best. But it’s not just a hotel - it’s a beautifully thought-out, truly unique wellness experience. The design and aesthetics are stunning, with incredible attention to detail and natural, high-quality materials throughout. What makes Palmaïa really stand out is that it’s built into the jungle and integrated into nature, unlike so many resorts that flattened the jungle and built a concrete one in its place. The reward for that approach is the thriving wildlife - we saw coatis, agoutis, spider monkeys, raccoons, butterflies, countless birds, and lizards everywhere. Food was absolutely amazing. We’re not vegan or vegetarian, but loved the concept and all the options. It really makes you more open-minded, and if you want meat, fish or cheese, that’s easily accommodated too. Special mentions: the Palmaïa burger at Su Casa (!), charred broccoli and prawns at LEK, and the delicious snacks at Plantissa. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely caring - nothing was ever a problem. The all-inclusive is actually truly ALL inclusive, which is rare these days: room service, beach service, taco van, drinks, wellness classes, workouts - everything. Spa is extra, but absolutely worth it, especially as treatments include access to the private cenote and Mayan steam bath. The beach is beautiful and genuinely great for swimming. Yes, Riviera Maya has seaweed (we visited in May), but staff worked constantly to clear it"

"This is the third time I’ve stayed at a Riu property, and my first time at the Riu Tequila. The hotel is great, and the staff are wonderful; however, I do feel that the rooms are in need of an update. The food and drinks are good, and the hotel is always very lively. Next time, I’d like to stay at the Riu Palace."

"We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Hotel Xcaret Arte. We received to fill out the list of activities, and we did it, we said the reason to visit this hotel. The day of our anniversary we went to a restaurant for dinner and to celebrate, they asked if we are celebrating something and we told them, but nothing happen, no celebration, at least we expected a plate with piece of cake and letter say "Happy anniversary" or something, but nothing. For me I do not care, but for my wife is a big deal. We tried to do this kind of trip for the last five years and this is the first time that nothing happens, very disappointed. We have a picture where we celebrate with a piece of cake our anniversary each but not this time. I know Xcaret wants to charge for everything, but for a piece of cake saying Happy Anniversary is too much. And we left a Tip to the Waitress for nothing. And is worst when see a lot of videos from other people that celebrate birthdays of Anniversaries with those kinds of attentions that we did not have. "

"The nature feel of the resort was very nice, it had a good jungle feel in the middle of the resort. The seaweed was constantly being cleaned. Unfortunately a lit of the amenities did not work. The sports bar was closed, many restaurants were closed throughout the week. Our room had many issues, the fridge broke twice, the hair dryer didn't work, toilet was broken. Honestly I feel that I was mislead about this resort. If I had know about the closures I would have made a different choice honestly"
