"We really enjoyed our visit. The beach is a short walk from the hotel, and there is a beach-side restaurant so you can stay all day. The staff were all very helpful. My family also enjoyed the animals which were wandering around (Coati and Agouti), it was an unexpected bonus for us."

"This is wonderful resort. The property seems to be recently updated/renewed and its very clean and all functional. We had very smooth stay with our kids. Food and drink were great, pools always clean, beautiful beach. The sea had seagrass, but we knew its the period and we enjoyed the beach play anyway. We also used the gym, where you can do all body exercises. Other guests had manners and all together had great vibe. Definitely would return and recommend this resort."

"The beach was clean and well provided with lounge chairs and activities for those who want them such as volleyball and water sports. It was a busy March Break week but the beach and the restaurants were not crowded and line-ups for food were short. The buffet was really great for breakfast and lunch."

"Major things going for this property; great beach, good food, reasonable rooms (though they're all the same no matter what level you purchase.... it's location on the property you're paying more for), reasonably friendly service staff. A major mark against this property is the front desk and concierge's level of service. Uncommunicative, deeply bothersome with endless calls to our room trying to get us to participate in their time share thing, and then they lied to my sister about what was and wasn't included in the Star Prestige thing she upgraded to. And we know they lied because what they said wasn't included (sun hat, flip flops, robe etc) WAS sent to my Mum who was also Star Prestige. She also had to follow up on a bottle of bubbly that she'd ordered to her room FOUR times... It arrived her LAST day of a 7 day trip. This was our second time here and the front desk/concierge was noticeably degraded in their service. Major red flag for the price of this property."

"The amenities and activities at Viva Maya are very good. The resort is very nice and has a beautiful beach with plenty of chairs for all guests. The food is good as well. The restaurants are nicely decorated and special. The only negatives are: small hotel rooms that seem dated and poor internet. "
