I wish I had better things to say about this property but it just didn’t hit the mark. I’ve stayed at countless all inclusives in my life and this one lacked the most for me. Albeit, I was told Iberstaro just took over this property 5 months ago so they may still be working on things. Pros: Beautiful property. Spacious but walkable. Pool felt big and not crowded. Staff were friendly & welcoming Decent restaurant options (for stays less than 6 days imo) Room was better than expected with an in room jacuzzi and spacious balcony Cons: Greeted by our ‘concierge’ who took 30+mins to try and convince us to come to an “informational breakfast session” and we had to sternly decline for the 100th time to get the point across. Then she never spoke to us again Room’s ‘mini bar’ was three sodas and two beers. Which was never replenished. We also didnt have the do not disturb sign so we had to call to request one I had asked for a small anniversary surprise to be sent to the room (it was just a complimentary brownie) but that was never delivered The pool swim up bar open opened at TEN (10) am. I’ve never heard of this before so that was shocking. Not to mention the bar tender seems to START setting up at that time so we really dont start getting drinks until 11. One day there was no ice and no ETA on the ice delivery either. Thankfully it only took about 30mins but what resort doesn’t have ice? First thing in the morning? There’s a lot more I cant fit here. Ok for $ i guess

The balconies are perfection! They have really comfy couches and chairs and are completely covered and shady. We were on the main floor so our "balcony" was right next to a little river, which was between our terrace and a main pool. I spent most of my time reading there. It was gloriously relaxing with no sunscreen worries. The food was excellent! If you're okay without a great beach (they do try clearing the sargassum every morning), and you just want a lovely place to relax and eat well, this resort is perfect!

We had such a memorable stay at Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun everything was fantastic and wanted to recognize some of the incredible staff who truly made our trip special. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and made everything smooth and easy. Mike the bellman was also fantastic — friendly and helpful right from the start. Richard’s always greeted us with his smile. Throughout our stay, the service stood out everywhere we went. Rolando was attentive, kind, and always made us feel taken care of. At the pool, Aric at the bar kept the drinks coming and was always so polite The restaurants were also a highlight — Marlene at the Mexican restaurant was incredible and Laura at the Brazilian restaurant was great too as both provided amazing service and made our dining experiences even better. A big thank you to Octavio the concierge and Adolfo in excursions for their help with planning and making everything easy and enjoyable. We also unfortunately needed medical assistance during our stay, and we cannot say enough about Dr. Cesar Eduardo Arias Bustamante. He was absolutely incredible — professional, caring, and reassuring during a stressful situation. We are so grateful for his help. He is the best!! Every one of these team members went above and beyond and truly made our vacation. Thank you for such a wonderful experience — we will definitely be back!

Our stay at iberostar selection Rivera Cancun was absolutely fantastic and we will be returning. Travelers; 2 middle age ladies just looking for a quiet relaxing vacation. Check in was quick and easy. We had requested a ground floor room when booking, which they provided for us. Our luggage was taken to our room #4115. The room was beautiful and clean. Room was exactly as shown in pictures, newly renovated, clean and overlooking pool with beach view. Food in restaurants and buffet was great, much better then most resorts. Staff from bars to pool to restaurants where amaizing and accommodating.. Thank you Alex, Enrique and Danielle

Massage on the beach was amazing! Had the best room on the resort, worth every penny! Ocean views and private swim up with jacuzzi inside and out! Gorgeous room, great food!

Had problems with all inclusive resort food is repeated allways they dont what to serve u with drinks i had that issue 2 times when complained it was served they should be very clear what is included and what not My room AC was not working for few hours then was fixed

The room was okay, but our shower was broken and toilet would not flush. The hot tub in the room was really dirty! They did not fix the shower or toilet, even after complain.

THE BAD: Seaweed on the beach and water was awful and smelled so foul! Beach/Ocean time was supposed to be a major part of our trip and the poor condition of the beach/ocean was NOT advertised. Resort convenience store was EXTREMELY expensive for normal items like medicine, etc. THE GOOD: Food was mostly great with options. Drinks were decent..if you like diet coke with your alcohol it tasted very odd. Lots of pools with space but were too cold in my opinion. Rooms nice and clean. Beds were average/good.

Food: Room service is better than average. Burgers were good and hot. Its only open until 1030 pm. The buffet is really good. The a la carte restaurants were not as good as the buffet. We had Spanish and Caribbean. The apps at the Caribbean were much better than the mains. The apps were tiny at the Spanish. The mains were good. If you come for an experience or an upclass dining experience, you will be disappointed. No hibachi or anything like that. Beach: abysmal. The staff works all day to clear the sargassum but, it is all in the water. The beach is only a few feet wide and unswimmable. Rooms: we got a ground level, ocean front, corner suite. The room was spacious with a king bed and huge tub. The outside area was the star of the room. We had a chair and sectional couch on the side of the room. In fromt of the room we had a couch, a table and chairs, then we had a bed to lay on. These had a wonderful ocean view right in front. Entertainment: They had quite a bit of activity at the pool. Karoake was at the lobby bar on most days. The white party was not what we thought it was going to be. It was someone up singing on stage. The foam party was fun and rambunctious. Yoo bad they only have 2x per week. Staff: The staff was womderful. They were always there to help and fill your glasses. Be warned that check-in and check-out are very slow. Also, time share people will hound you. Just tell them no.
