Second time stay at this resort. This time we were at Ventura Ha. We love everything about this resort. The food is great! 7/8 different restaurant. Just get reservations before you come. Service and staff are amazing! Especially Noe in the marina lobby bar.

The front desk staff were unaccommodating and seemed uninterested in providing assistance or showing any understanding. The food was mediocre at best, with little variety or flavor. The beach was completely overrun with seaweed, making it unpleasant to enjoy, and it seemed no one was bothered to clean it up. Entertainment options were sparse and unremarkable, with limited shows that failed to engage. The beach service was slow, and the staff weren’t particularly friendly when taking orders. We also experienced long wait times for basic things like coffee. Overall, it was a letdown, and I wouldn’t return or recommend it to others. more details of the check-in experice; We paid extra for additional guests, but instead of receiving a larger room, we were given the same one we had booked for just three people. I understand that they were sold out that night, but once a room became available, they could have at least moved us or made an effort to accommodate us better. What was even more frustrating was the complete lack of respect or understanding from the staff; they simply told us they were sold out and couldn’t help, without offering an apology or any solution. The customer service was disappointing, to say the least.

Everything was very nice, clean, good food, very polite staff. However, wifi is limited to only two devices, reservations at restaurants are very difficult to get which defeats the purpose of a la carte if not able to go, and beach is ok, but not very pretty in comparison to other beaches in cancun.

Overall, the resort is acceptable, and the rooms are decent. However, booking the restaurants is unnecessarily difficult. The food quality is good, but there is only one main buffet, which often has long entry lines. At night, everything shuts down by 1 a.m. There are no bars or snack options afterward, and alcohol service stops completely. The evening entertainment and shows feel very low-budget and lack quality. The biggest downside is the beach. It is essentially non-existent, and the water is murky. If ocean swimming and beach time matter to you, this is not the right destination.

Likes: no high pressure time share tactics great staff plenty of pool options close to the marina views food variety Dislikes: * paper thin walls, we could clearly hear the neighbors conversing, the "club" kept us up all night due to noise. * restaurants - while there is a decent variety, reservations can only be made once you have checked in and they are difficult to get. Additionally, one night we had reservations at the hibachi restaurant and were never informed that the restaurant was unexpectedly closed. We only found out when we arrived for our reservation. We were a group of 10 and it was a difficult scramble to find a place that could accommodate our group. *not walkable - while it is close enough to the little town to walk, there is no safe walking path *no designated golf cart/pedestrian lanes. All paths were shared

The pool was super cold we were not able to go in it our entire trip. The beach was small and boring. Several shows were canceled while we were here without notification. Smallest buffet we have ever seen in Mexico and for the most part the food did not change from day to day and the one cooking station they had was so slow that we would be standing in line to order for over 20 minutes. But the best was when we arrived at night after traveling all day we were not allowed to checkin until we agreed to a timeshare presentation where they promised us a bunch of excursion vouchers. So the very next morning instead of enjoying the resort with our kids we had to leave our kids not for the promised 90min but rather a 3hr presentation & when we told our sales guy we were not interested he called his manager in to try to convince us & when we still said no the manager got mad at us and threw his hands in the air with frustration and told us to go get our vouchers but not before a 3rd guy came in and still tried to sell us. Then at the end he asks us what we like so far about the resort and I had to tell him I have no clue we have not been allowed to enjoy it yet. Then we get our vouchers and I go to try and book an excursion just to find out they only gave us a voucher to the absolute worst version of their excursion that was extremely unappealing so at the end we had to pay nearly triple the cost of what we were promised just to go on a good excursion.

Overall a great value for money. Noticeable drop in service from a year prior. From servers, to hotel clerks, to housekeeping, the resort felt burnt out. I started to feel more like a burden than a guest.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Marina El Cid. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, even though they are on the older side. What truly made the experience outstanding was the staff — from housekeeping to the wait staff to the front desk, everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. The food was excellent with a great variety of restaurants and buffets to choose from, and even the room service exceeded our expectations. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would highly recommend Hotel Marina El Cid to anyone looking for great service, comfort, and quality food.

Poor security. Forget an item (like a hat restaurant at closing time) and staff will keep it instead of turning it into lost and found. Caught a service person using a pass key with the do not disturb sign on the door and their rules forbid their entry. Bar and restaurant soda dispensers not carbonated at several locations on several days. Food was hit and miss. Staff works hard and pools are clean. I won't be going back.

Food, having food sensitivities it would have been nice is there was an area of buffett food that was gluten free, free of heavy spices and sauces.
