「Love everything! From the beautiful retro room to the heated floors in the bay to the comfy bed. We love the decor and we need some relaxing time. Wife and I wish it was warmer to see the property and water views but it was cold! Maybe we come back in the summer 」

「This is a great boutique hotel. It has character for sure. It’s in a great location. It was quiet and well kept. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. The staff who set that up cared about presentation and variety. Overall, it was a great stay. There were a few little things that kept this from being a 5/5. The room was mostly clean. But there was trash left behind from a previous visitor under the bureau (including a used bandaid). And though the water pressure was good, the temperature...

「HOT WATER!!!! Turned on the water for the shower, never got warm or hot, was cold. Called the front desk, on hold for 6 minutes, called back on hold for while again then hung up on. Called back and was told our room is far away from the boiler and it takes a while for the water to warm up!! Pretty amazing huh」

「We had a wonderful time staying at Hotel Thaxter! The location was perfect for walking around Portsmouth, plenty of local shops and restaurants around. The staff was very helpful and provided some great recommendations. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again if we travel to Portsmouth. 」

「Excellent hotel! Breakfast is good. They even provide light dinner for free! Room is big with kitchen! Must stay next time! Parking is an issue, but I travel with a residence friend here. It is not an issue to me.」
