A local told us that his grandfather farmed tomatoes on the land. At the end of the harvest season, people would gather on the beach and have a tomato-flinging fest. Also, do not misss the NSU museum. Outstanding! The Rexall pharmacy is historic.too.

Lots of independent and major chains, both restaurants and retail, within 2 minutes to 7 minutes drive, in all 4 directions. Just over the Intracoastal bridge from the beach & A-1-A, which is the major North & South thoroufare along the Fl beaches.

About a couple of blocks away was the best Cuban food I experienced. The folks at this "Mom and Pop" Cafe Toque Cubano were very attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They only open for breakfast and lunch.

Danica Beach was very nice. There's a lot of shopping and restaurants around this property. I didn't have to travel out far for anything that I may have needed or wanted.

"Good hotel to stay in prior to and after a cruise. Property and room was very clean and lobby had lots of space and seating area. There is a bistro with decent food in the lobby but hours are a bit spotty. Not a lot to explore around the hotel that is walkable. Only a train station to get you around (or Uber). "
"This is a great resort. It’s huge - a true resort. High-end but not pretentious. It’s very popular, don’t come for solitude unless you like to be alone surrounded by people. I didn’t see anyone not having a good time, everyone was friendly and nice. Families, couples, friends, an everyone kind of place. It’s crowded but you can find a space you like to hang out for the day, beach or poolside. The facilities are high quality and very clean, always busy in the lobby. The staff are friendly and helpful, and not hard to find. Extra’s like cabanas and beach beds were priced too high for me and maybe a lot of others, many were empty. Gym is enormous with new looking equipment, and included! Spa is $$$ but big and spotless, they were happy to give a tour. Drinks are pricey but very good. The Italian restaurant had excellent food. You’ll need a ride to explore off property, but lots to do not far away, one vibe south another vibe north. Or just stay there, so many different shops and restaurants to go to. My room on bayside was quiet with quality furnishings and a great city view with fantastic sunsets. Elevators are busy but ample, short waits my entire visit. There may be places that are more exclusive but this was just perfect for me. Can’t wait to visit the property in Vegas."
