"It’s a comfortable, family-friendly place that makes a good base for day trips to various parts of the island. Has many restaurants to choose from. The pool and beach are great. The staff is the best. They are very attentive, courteous, friendly, and helpful all the time. They work hard to keep things running and available to the guests"

"The rooms weren’t super clean - the sheets had some hairs on it and I couldn’t tell if they were reused or just not properly cleaned. There was also hair on the ground. And our closet door was broken. The pictures are a little misleading - the kitchen and couches are shared areas. The rooms are very small with just beds but the bathroom was so nice The overall stay was good for what we needed which was a bed with a quiet space (except for the frogs - they are loud all night). the rooms lead right into the shared corridor. No one spent time there so it was ok (not loud) but if people didn’t spend time there, then it would be very loud in the bedrooms. An amazing location! "

"I hate leaving a bad review but The Alma was probably one of the most disappointing stays I've booked in recent memory. They let us check in early and gave us a room with no windows. Unfortunately, it became quite evident that everything in the hotel is style over substance in an attempt to convince you that you aren't staying at a 2-star hotel. I checked my credit card statement and saw I was charged $190. I called the hotel to ask about this, but the automated system said there was no one to take my call and did not allow me to leave a message. Upon some digging, it appears the charge was for a “resort fee.” The front desk attendant took my card when we checked in. He said it was for incidentals and did not mention anything about a resort fee, nor did they give me a receipt explaining any charges at checkout. I feel like charging a resort fee for a room that has no windows and is in fact not part of a resort, is crazy. The beds and linens are above average, but that's the nicest thing I can say about the property."

"I had to wait until 4pm to get my room but when I was able to I found it still not made up from the last guest which should not happen. They got it cleaned asap and gave me a discount for the issue. Yes the bar was a good perk."
