"We travelled as a family of 4 with 2 young adults. They thought it was real cool place. It had authentic character and we liked the tatami rooms and mats. We also liked that we had the place to ourselves. It felt liked we lived in Kyoto and walked in the back alley to our home. It was great to have more space than a hotel room. Good quiet central location and close to transit and those popular convenience stores. The experience here was memorable as much as sight seeing in Kyoto. Enjoyable!"

"My family & I truly enjoyed the experience of staying in a Japanese home vs a hotel room. There were 4 of us and the 2 bedroom comfortably fit us and there was another room downstairs where the family could hang out and that room could have fit another 2 occupants. If there is a negative, the TV was rather small and was not a SMART TV so you will be stuck just watching Japanese channels. "This was a good stay! Only issues my friends and I had was that it was a small location, ideal for two people obviously squeezing a third person was like playing Tetris with the Futons and the floor space. Another issue was that the futons were stained with something and considering one of my friends is pretty much germaphobic she didn’t really enjoy that aspect of the stay. Other than that great place, staff was courteous. And the places to walk to was plentiful!"

The bathroom is accessed by going outside and you can see right through so make sure the curtains in the main house are closed if you are with friends or family (no privacy possible from bathroom side). "What a beautiful little house! It was lovely to have an authentic Japanese home base to return to every day. The house is in a residential area away from the city centre, so it's extremely quiet and relaxed. We felt completely safe and secure in the house, and I was very comfortable even without the aircon - the house was surprisingly insulated. "Very nice traditional house. Very clean. The host is very friendly and accommodating. However this house is best suited for 4 people or less, not for 6 people nor people that has problem going up steep stairs as the two bedrooms are upstairs. Also, with only 1 shower it is not convenient for 6 people that wanted to shower. The other two people had to find another place to stay since it was super cramped."
