St. Augustine South 3 Stars Hotels

"So the staff were very nice. They charged $25 a dog when online here it said 28 for the room. Never a per dog fee-I had 2 little pugs. The photos on here are nothing like the property. All the greenery here is dead. Like crispy dead. The power completely shut off on us at like 9pm. They got it back on though. They had outlets with blue tape saying do not use. The grass was like 6 inches high. But the positive was the location and they had a dog park. Remember it’s under $100 a night so I guess you get what you pay for "

"The room stank so badly of mold and mildew it was hard to breathe. We found the problem as soon as we took a shower. The shower curtain is so far away from the shower all the water just goes straight out into the bathroom. The design is such that every shower turns the entire bathroom into a wading pool. All of this standing water with nowhere for it to drain causes the entire room to smell moldy and musty. Even the front window shades had mold all over them. Extremely disgusting. "

"Nice laid back motel refashioned into a full-service/amenity hotel. Homage to artist/conservationist Guy Harvey. Easy access to the beach. Our March stay: Clean room with small balcony (bathroom could use some refurbishment). Staff were absolutely lovely. Plenty of beach towels. Great little outdoor bar at the pool with live music off and on. The restaurant/bar at the front had very good food: breakfast, lunch, dinner with covered outdoor seating away from the lively pool activity. Tasty coffee (and cheap!) with free refills til 10. Convenient shuttle stop to different beaches etc. We’ll be back!"

"Loved the view of the waterway out the back and the nice shower. Be prepared for some train noise overnight, but we thought it was worth the view! Walkable to the historic area of St Augustine with just one busy street to cross "

"It’s a good hotel, but I don’t understand why a pet-friendly hotel has carpet in the rooms. I also didn’t see the need for valet parking, especially with a $29 per day charge it didn’t seem necessary. But overall, it was good for our family to stay there for two nights. One more thing: when we arrived after 4 PM, the room wasn’t available. They ended up putting us in a room for guests with disabilities."
