「Charming B&B in the center of Newburyport about 3 blocks from the water. Easy walking distance to river walk, multiple restaurants of varied menus, and charming shops (no chains). Easy driving to most north shore locations. Inn keeper was gracious and provided answers to questions about what's in town. Rooms were good size with modern bath facility. Good breakfast offering. Only thing that could have been better was low bandwidth WiFi, but I guess that's not that important for a B&B experience....

The former United States Customhouse is a historic building in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The Classical Revival style building was constructed in 1834 and served a custom house until Newburyport declined in popularity as a major port. The Newburyport Maritime Society, Inc. operates the Custom House Maritime Museum to showcase the maritime heritage of the Merrimack Valley. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
