Charming, perfect, upscale boutique hotel perfectly located in Newburyport. We only have good things to say about the Garrison: the room was spacious, perfectly clean and well-maintained, with luxe toiletries, lovely decor, parking, pet-friendly and a breakfast cooked to order by a pleasant gent! It looks like it would be an excellent location for small weddings or other celebrations. (Photo of breakfast room uploaded — other spaces for tea/cocktails/receptions were lovely, too.) We left the car in the included parking area and walked everywhere because of the great location.

Our stay was fine. We were in town for a wedding and this location was perfectly located. The room was spacious and comfortable, and they have a parking. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was extremely noisy and poorly matched to the space as the room felt clammy, and again very noisy and crap, really. What I am most disappointed about is the hotel charged me for a bottle of water that I did not use. They even charged me the day before they cleaned the room, yet sent me the bill after I had left. I left a generous tip for the cleaning staff, but clearly they wanted more. This hotel is not worth $450 a night + nickel and dime fraud.

Beautiful building, lots of classic antique touches, room was spotless, staff was incredible, short walk to water front, and included breakfast was classic. About only complaint I had was the HVAC unit which was like the "Motel #" type, extremely loud, and kept waking me up.

We were welcomed warmly, and room was very clean and comfortable. We liked how quiet and dark the room was. We ordered room service and requested decaf coffee, and they brewed it fresh for us! Complimentary breakfast was delicious, and cooked to order. Definitely going back.
