「Beautiful Hotel ideally placed for visiting The Sage Centre. Fantastic comfortable room, great clean bathroom, tea and coffee offerings were good. Only downside £23 each for a breakfast is crazy compared to other hotels. So we ate out lol.」

「Lovely surroundings. Our room was cozy. Nicely decorated but carpet could have benefited from a shampoo. En suite very small. Shower small if you are not very thin! Window seat only sitting option which was ok if not closing curtains Lovely food in the evening. Breakfast average and not great selection for continental. All in all though we would definitely return but would book larger room」

「We had a lovely one-night stay here - the owner and staff were super welcoming and helpful, and we enjoyed a great breakfast in the morning. We were in one of the attic rooms, which involved a bit of stooping on our part, but it was a lovely room all the same!」

「Pros: close to train station and restaurants, great breakfast (semi-buffet), value for money Cons: room is a but dusty, and some rooms are located in between 2 floors so you need to climb a few steps with your luggage, rmb to send a note to the hotel if you carry heavy luggage to avoid such rooms.」

「The hotel staff were lovely, we were upgraded to a deluxe room with a hot tub, as it was my partners 50th birthday. Also a lovely touch, a bottle of prosecco waiting in the room with a card. 」

「Recommended if you want somewhere to stay for the night. Clean. Friendly staff. 25 min walk from main city centre/arena’s ect. Quiet area. Only bad thing for me was a room for 4 people and there was just 1 plug socket. 4 of us having to take turns to charge phone. Need more , not really ideal in 2025…」

「A lovely pub just outside Durham in High Shincliffe. It’s nicely done up and a mix of locals and travellers like me. The food is well priced and the drinks list extensive. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I LOVED my full English breakfast. You cannot fault this place for the price. 」
