Couple of small drawbacks otherwise excellent

Really nice hotel in a lovely location. The check in experience was messy and I can't believe that for over £300 for the night when we stayed there wasn't even a fridge in the room...everything else was excellent.

We didn’t have breakfast here so I can’t comment on that. I chose this hotel as a treat rather than a budget hotel option for myself and my fiancé for a night away. I was disappointed with the room- it was very tired looking and dated. Stains/marks on the carpet and curtains and the room itself just wasn’t particularly modern looking. I slept badly as the air conditioning didn’t seem to work properly and the pillows were awful with no extras available. I wished we’d chosen a budget option instead. The only things that were good were the actual lobby area looks lovely and the staff within it were polite and helpful. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to stay here

Nice upscale hotel with large rooms. Good work desk and internet. Breakfast had lots of choices, both hot and cold. Nice location along canal, with a reasonable (if uphill) walk into town, towards the cathedral. Getting to the hotel by foot from the station more challenging due to the hill nature of town, and construction blocking various access ways.
