"Big Horse Inn is a hidden gem in this part of Illinois. It is perfectly located, close to Dickson Mounds (great hiking trails), Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge, and the Illinois/Spoon River area. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. Self check-in could not have been easier. Don't miss the attached Black Maple coffee shop for delicious breakfast and lunch options (and coffee, of course). The inn is within easy walking distance of a traditional small-town diner, Casey's, and Dairy Queen, so plenty of options for any dining budget!"

"problem with room I requested but manager solved the problem in good manner. Advertised as having free breakfast - DID NOT OFFER BREAKFAST room clean and nice but I did find a bug crawling the wall"

"Low cost room. The bed was comfortable. The TV, fridge and microwave all worked. Hot shower. The room was a little too warm the first night, but comfortable the next. I like the room cool at night. Just my preference. For the price, I would return."

"Cindy welcomed me at the front desk and was very accommodating with a change I needed. She was pleasant and friendly and greeted me every time we met up. Great job at this location! Clean and quiet and I felt safe."
