"This property was highly enjoyable. The rooms were clean and roomy. We loved the variety of pool areas to change up Centro day to day. Sandos has personalized Expedia reps to assist you on your stay to assure reservation bookings, help with excursions and always checked on us to assure our stay was enjoyable. The staff make amazing drinks and all the food and buffets had a wide variety of food and was tasty. Would def stay here again. "

"Me gustó mucho las instalaciones ya que tienen muchos bares, restaurantes y así pero es importante tener en cuenta que para los restaurantes puedes reservar solo 1 por cada 3 noches que te hospedes, y muchas áreas o cosas como meseros en la playa, etc están reservadas para los que tienen pulseras negra que nunca nos dijeron que se pagaba extra o así, en si todos los meseros muy amables y las personas de entretenimiento también, la playa muy bonita y limpiaban el sargazo a cada rato, si lo recomendaría si quieres unas vacaciones lindas no tan caras y con muchas actividades alrededor del día "

"Rooms - very clean, well maintained, no issues with broken things or rusted out showers etc. Staff - polite and quiet, when you need help they are all willing to assist. Front desk assistance will ways try and sell you on "extra" stuff thag you do NOT need and you need to be firm when saying no youre not interested. Pool/Beach - clean, safe, lots of seating (get out early for a chair though because they go quickly). Beach is the reason we come, zero sargasum seaweed because of the net across the enterance on the man made inlet of water. A lot of fish swimming around which is awsome for kids and adults to see, crabs, turtles as well. Lots of trees for shade also. Food - Average, nothing fancy, buffets could be a bit better in food selelction but zero issues Overall a great resort, especially for families on a budget, would recommend to anyone!"

"6 of us stayed at Riu Playacar and we ALL loved the resort! Rooms were spotless. Pool was clean and perfect temps. The staff in every department was exceptional . This was our 5th time there and will def go back ! They have games everyday on the beach and pool. Food was very good in every restaurant and buffet. Night entertainment was very good too. "

"The property overall was very good. The staff was friendly and I liked that you could go to other RIU hotels in the area and eat and drink and it was still all inclusive. The food was pretty good, most restaurants are buffet style. The rooms were a little dated but I liked daily room service. Nice place I would definitely go back again!"

"Some of the specialty restaurants were a bummer but the main buffet restaurant Don Julian alone would bring me back. A plethora of options that were different every night we were there. Very friendly and helpful staff. The pools were a bit small but enough. Hetting drinks was very quick; did not have to wait more than 2 minutes any time."

"In my personal experience of staying at this hotel the room was clean and modern and the staff was great. The only area that requires improvement in this hotel is the POOL!!. The roof top area is great but the pool's water is cloudy which in my personal knowledge its a sign of bacterial growth or chemical in balance and hotel were great but the pool water was dirty and cloudy. I made a complaint to the front desk regarding the pool water and request for it to be cleaned on my second day at the hotel but it was never fixed and we stayed there for 6 days. We were unable to enjoy the pool for this reason. I hope they can fix it as i would definitely return to this hotel. "
