Amazing!!!! Like a little oasis! Way cooler than the area because of the jungle! So many monkeys that came to eat bananas! The staff provided us with bananas, and my kids fed the spider monkeys and the iguanas. The pool was excellent at night and the food at the restaurant, amazing!!!!

Lovely place! Eco-friendly, in nature, quaint peaceful place, close to Xcaret, Xenses, and Xplor. Staff was very attentive, kind, and just superb. Included breakfast had choices of fruit, cereal, pastries, eggs, omelette, juices, and coffee. An overall absolute lovely place, felt like i was at home. Highly recommended!

Very quaint boutique hotel, with amazing staff, situated in the jungle, walking steps to Xcaret, Xplor and Xenses. Breakfast included and they have a restaurant for dinner. We were a family of 4 with 2 pre-teens and we always felt very safe. Service here felt very personalized. The highlight was definitely the spider monkeys where you can feed them. Cant wait to return.

If you're looking for an adventurous day and peaceful night, this is the place for you. Its close to Xcaret and xplore theme park (walking distance). Close to main road, easy to take local buses to Playa del Carmen or Tulum. The staff are great, very pleasant and helpful. They speak Spanish and English. They have a pool to relax and nice feel of relaxation. They offer breakfast, unlimited coffee and wifi. During the morning, you can get awaken by a spider Monkey. They're friendly and cute for some videos and pictures. I will be back!!

great place to stay if you like nature thanks to Nemesio, Fanny and rest of crew make it more enjoyable to stay only deal if you don't bring a car transportation is available at the main hwy but place is nice.

This hotel is a little treasure and i would absolutely recommend it! We checked in super later after being at Xcaret all day and when we drove up one of the staff came out to the car to greet us, carried our bags and showed us to our rooms. The rooms are clean, fridge was filled with drinks and snacks for purchase. Fresh fruit, Mexican bread, and eggs to order for breakfast. And we even had a surprise visit from a small family of spider monkeys! And it was very quiet.

Terasu is a hotel in jungle. The building is not new, but the room is clean. The breakfast was simple, but the scrambled eggs was made tasty. It's not too far from Xcaret Park. This is the reason we chose this hotel. After seeing the evening show at the park after 9pm, it took us 10-15 minutes to the hotel. There is no public transportation to the hotel. If you don't have a car, you have to rely on taxi service which is quite expensive. The staff was very friendly.

Hands down the best get away place. If you like peace and quiet, It’s a smaller place with nature all around. The staff is one of the best I’ve ever had so attentive and friendly from the moment you arrive to the moment you close your car door to leave. The atmosphere is peaceful the place is clean. The host were amazing helping us secure a cab that won’t charge an arm an a leg. They also give you recommendations to places based on your interest. We visited XCARET, the night guard waited outside with a lamp for us to make sure we were ok. At night they close the gates which made me feel extra safe and secure. Their restaurant staff amazing as well. I will definitely be back.

Great location if you're visiting Xcaret or Xenses - it's just 5 minutes away! The staff is very friendly and courteous, they moved our room location to the one on the first floor since there are so many mosquitoes on the ground floor. The pool was out of service, but this was due to the Hurricane (Beryl) and understandable.

The photos are deceiving : the pool is very small ,if there is a family of 4 there ,there is no room for anyone else. I payed much more than the quote assigned on the front desk which is a small palapa as well as the the dining room.

Unbelievable Hotel

Wow. Unbelievable property. Great location right in the middle of Xcaret park in Playa del Carmen away from the noise. The staff was so kind, we wanted to see the area and they helped us organize tours which picked us up at the hotel and returned us there. Free continental breakfast was great and the rooms are big, luxurious and comfortable. Really unique property, even monkeys would come by every day. Brand new hotel true boutique experience, truly unbelievable

Terasu is a hidden gem! Just a five minute walk from Xcaret Xplor, we relaxed at this spa like resort emerged the wilderness. We enjoyed listening to the birds in the morning an even got to feed the local wild monkeys passing through the trees… One literally came right onto our desk and took a banana from our hands! Aside from the peaceful fairy tale environment, the staff was hands down wonderful for our entire stay. They helped us get our park tickets, arrange transportation and immediately helped us with our wifi connection when the signal dropped. If I ever find myself in this area of Mexico again, I would love to come back!

The facility was very pretty and seemed updated but the pool area was small, dirty and in the shade. We didn't even use it. Also, we had our family of four in the room with a bed and sofa bed. I slept on the sofa bed with my daughter and it had a wooden beam going across so I had to sleep with my head at the feet area to avoid laying on the beam with my hip. Very uncomfortable. Also, there was no blanket or comforter for the sofa bed. When I asked they said they didn't have any. The location is very far from anything so we had to taxi into to town a few times which was an extra $40 USD each way. Otherwise, the rooms, food and staff were great. And the outdoor lounge was nice and relaxing.

In the middle of the riviera jungle, super close to XCARET, we got to live a great experience. Kind of tricky to get here, got lost a couple of times due to lack of better signs ( take Calle de los Monos). Totally recommend getting here in the morning for this same reason, it’s hard to find it when it’s darker since it’s in the middle of nowhere basically. That’s the beauty of this place! Super private and quite. Iguanas and Monkeys were everywhere early in the morning while having breakfast, we even got to feed the monkeys and had an amazing Massage at their Spa, up in a private roof by Kendra and Rene. The experience was amazing and would be coming back on our next trip to the riviera maya. Totally recommend staying here!

We stayed at Terasu because of the close proximity to XCARET! without the high prices of the resorts nearby. A 15min walk or 7 min taxi ride. The room (king suite) was great. Plenty of room for myself and two kids (ages 11 and 8). The pool was nice to take a quick dip in the late afternoon heat (it was a little murky, but that doesn’t bother us) The service was great and so was the breakfast. They helped me get a taxi to and from the hotel and nearby towns. There were some loud noises the first night from the neighbors ducks/geese. Ear plugs were provided though! My only suggestion is that if you don’t have a car, there isn’t any nearby restaurants to eat dinner at unless you take a taxi. Loved the design of the hotel and how they incorporated the trees into the design. Thank you so much!

We booked a three-night stay at this hotel but left right after checking in because the conditions were unacceptable. There was a large hole right at the entrance with no warning signs or barriers, which was a serious safety hazard—especially since we were traveling with our young child. The room itself was extremely dirty, with visible blood stains on the bed linens and a strong moldy odor. It was obvious the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. Within a short time of being in the room, our child developed a rash, so we left immediately and booked another hotel. This place was unsafe and unsanitary, and I would strongly caution anyone—especially families with children—against staying here.

Very unique property. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Made the stay comfortable. Helped us with getting to Xcaret safely via shuttle. Property is in the jungle so must be ok with bugs, lizards, iguanas and monkeys in the area. Lobby and pool were outside directly beside rooms. Bed was clean and comfortable, shower was hot. Nice and close the all Xcaret parks making it very convenient to attend. Would stay again if going to the parks! Thank you!

This property is small, tranquil, and just lovely. We have stayed at the huge Cancun resorts and this was our first time in Playa Del Carmen. We chose this hotel for its great reviews and close proximity to Xcaret. The staff at Terasu Riviera Hotel is incredible! We arrived late at night due to flight delay, and Fernando was waiting in the entrance for us and took our bags and walked us to our room. The next day we met Fanny at breakfast and she helped us plan our day at Xcaret. Fernando indicated he would walk us to the bus that would take us to Xcaret and waited there with us. Xcaret is amazing and the best part is the show that runs from 7-9 pm. We arrived on the bus and there was Fernando ready to walk us back to our room. A gentleman named Jorge heard our delighted reaction at spotting spyder monkeys at breakfast and he lured them over with bananas and allowed us to feed them. Another member of their staff, Enemencio went out of his way to provide us with anything we needed. Fanny arranged for a taxi to take us to dinner in town and gave us a restaurant recommendation that was perfect. We received a text that night from Fernando offering to send a taxi for us and we were so relieved as it got late. Also, we had no idea until our last night that their chef is so talented and we had the best dinner there! (Pizza made in a wood burning oven). Aside from the incredible staff, the hotel is set in the jungle and it is a refreshing change from huge, busy hotels with loud music.

We also recommend ‘Rio Secreto’ experience
