「Overall, it was ok. The room had a hole in the floor that was covered by the carpet, and the sink wasn’t in the bathroom. The bathroom was small, but usable. The pool was amazing! The concrete around the pool was heaving and definitely needs to be repaired. The decking in there also needs to be repaired as we got slivers from it. There was a lot of traffic, and people outside with all of their belongings, just sitting there. Not a bad location, to the beach or other amenities, but it was ok.」

「Basic hotel. Does the trick. Clean. Only the sheer curtains close in the room, so if you like to sleep in and don’t want the sun waking you, you need a room facing opposite the sun. No fan in the bathroom. Breakfast was lackluster (microwaved sausage and egg patties, bare bones everything else).」

「Due to the season I did not realized we’re not booking in the “true colony hotel “, which was shut down for the winter, the hotel rooms behind the resort were ok, but was not able to see the ocean as I had requested an ocean view room, so very disappointed 」

「My husband and I (and our dog) had a lovely three night stay. The hosts Amelia and Ron were so welcoming, and made us delicious breakfasts. They filled us in on the history of the Inn and the neighboring area. Our room was comfortable and cozy, and we enjoyed the hot cocoa and soft drinks that were always available. Just the post-Christmas getaway we needed. 」

「From the very moment I stepped inside the front lobby, everything about AWOL was amazing. Check in was a breeze and the very kind lady gave me a nice detailed tour that was also somehow quick. She even included a map for me with some suggestions as I am not from the area. The room was cozy, clean, and everything we wanted when we booked our stay.
