Hotel Politeama

10/10 Excellent
"We booked a suite with wraparound balcony. Suite was lovely, cannot fault it at all. Views over Palermo were amazing and when sleeping the windows blocked out the noise of the bustling city. Maids came when needed and did a fantastic job. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the continental breakfast selection. Location was perfect, not far from the historical centre and massimo teatro but far enough away for anyone wanting a slightly quieter base to explore. Palermo is a great city. It’s gritty in places, but the architecture, streets and piazza’s are also very beautiful. Restaurants and bars we went to were excellent. The people couldn’t be more friendlier, especially when they saw we were making a little effort to speak basic Italian (albeit poorly!). Although most spoke excellent English. One point I would make, it was extremely hot (early Sept) and when going back we would visit later in year (October). The hotel does have (much-needed) aircon which meant heat was only an issue when outside. Overall, brilliant city break and the hotel helped make it an unforgettable trip. Grazie mille!!"
