"The staff was great, the location is just in front of the lake, however the property needs to be updated, carpet and cealings looks old and in some places seems to fall apart. They don't add the water at the room which we are used to have in Japan, we needed to ask for tówels and to make us our beds, which was an experience as we literally slept on the floor, something that we didn't know when we booked. Doors lock is also old and my friend says dificult to lock from the inside. It was I may say an unexpected Japanese experience including the breakfast, a nice experience after all. "

"Our stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. They also provide pajamas/loungewear, which were extremely comfortable and a nice extra touch. We loved having a balcony with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji, especially in the morning and at sunset. The onsen and public baths were relaxing, and we especially enjoyed the private onsens as well. The location was peaceful and quiet, with gorgeous scenery all around. I highly recommend taking advantage of the hotel shuttle service to get to and from Kawaguchiko Station, as getting Ubers was more difficult than not, especially for a larger group. The nearest FamilyMart and 7-Eleven are about a mile away, so the breakfast buffet is definitely worth adding to your stay. There was a wide variety of options, and it was a great way to start the day before heading out. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. Honestly, this was the best stay of all the places we visited in Japan. We would definitely stay at La Vista Fujikawaguchiko again."

"Excellent hotel close to Lake Kawaguchiko. Comfy beds, spacious bedroom and clean bathroom. The reception area is lovely and staff very helpful. 7/11 & Family Mart down the road and couple of restaurants nearby. Only thing to note is it’s hard to get a taxi from Kawaguchiko station to the hotel, there is a bus but it gets crowded so just need to plan ahead a bit."

"We had a wonderful time staying for the cherry blossom festival! Villa was lovely, and staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice stay. Highly recommend!"

"Like a lot of Japanese apartments and houses, this is run by a local Japanese family for over 30 years. The owner came out to welcome us when we were parking our car. It is very thoughtful to provide a small wagon to transport luggage’s from the parking lot to the house. The front office has lots of cat decorations and the whole villa has several cats sitting or walking around which adds fun and has amused our kids. Owner also recommended many attractions and activities in Fujikawaguchico. The house is big for the family of 4 and has floor heating in the dining room. We liked there are 2 washrooms, and they put towel supplies for both days of our stay. There are seasonings and cooking oils provided, and EVEN plastic wraps which is very useful for packing sandwiches for our lunch. The hot spring is comfortable and there were very few people after 8 pm. The villa is a few minutes walk from the lake. There is the cherry blossoms festival during our stay so several streets are lightened up at night. We couldn’t get up early so didn’t get to see the reflection of Fuji mountain (6-8am). Overall, we highly recommend this place."

We especially enjoyed the personalized service, delicious BBQ and breakfast, unique outdoor sauna, hand-ground coffee in room, excellent selection of unique & local fruity alcoholic beverages in the fridge, heated beds (so comfortable!), hammock, and strong air conditioning. "The staff was very unhelpful in difficulties we had around our booking, caused by major transportation disruptions beyond our control in Japan, and rude to my wife when she tried over 5 times to contact and remediate the situation. I would never recommend this as a '5 star, glamp' hotel. Service levels are 1 star. "

"This is a good choice for a stay near Mt. Fuji. The location is conveniently located to the lake and 7 eleven. There's no staff on hand, but the owner is readily available to help remotely. The rooms are cosy, clean, comfortable. 2 thumbs up."
