With the continuation of the COVID-19 outbreak, traveling today comes with some extra challenges. Keep in mind these handy tips before hopping on your plane to Cancun South:

• Before you book a flight, see if any travel restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get up-to-date information by checking government websites.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA officer.
• Rather than handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. When that's done, hold it up for inspection.
• You're allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. You'll need to remove it for screening.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, place items such as your phone, wallet and keys into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to handle and inspect your belongings.
