"Overall, I had mixed feelings about Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, but our stay progressively got better, and I would come back.
The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The modern aesthetic is impressive, and the beach club was easily the highlight. It’s gorgeous, the staff was wonderful, and the breakfast and lattes were great.
The first few days, however, were disappointing. Service was inconsistent, and some staff initially seemed annoyed when we asked questions, although interactions often improved afterward and especially after tipping. Housekeeping was also extremely late. We would return around 4–5 p.m. to an uncleaned room with no fresh towels or washcloths and sometimes had to request service.
Food was mixed. The restaurants were good, and breakfast was decent, but the lunch/dinner buffet was probably a 3/10. The pizza was genuinely bad, and the tacos/nachos were underwhelming. The pool snack shack was also out of several items despite the resort not being very busy.
Interestingly, around day 3–4, I was walking around recording the property, and afterward the service improved tremendously. We even received a call from the front desk checking on our experience. That may have been completely coincidental, but the difference was noticeable. Housekeeping and overall attentiveness became much more consistent.
Overall, the resort looks luxurious, but the service and operations need more consistency. Despite the rough start, the beautiful property, great beach club."
