We stayed during Easter week, and the resort was busy and seemed understaffed. First, we waited 2 hours for ceviche at the pool. After complaining, the concierge offered us a cabana, and the other day it was much better. Impossible to go to restaurants at night without planning your reservations. The food was great, and even the buffet had so much good stuff. The resort is huge, and I do not like to walk 15 minutes to get an ice cream (depending on where your room is), we had a decent time but will not go back.

Es un Resort muy bonito ! Es grandísimo , tiene muchísimos restaurantes , la comida muy rica y variada en el bufete , la habitación muy amplia y con tina de hidromasje en el balcón , cama y almohadas muy confortable , limpieza de habitación excelente , mini refrigerador del habitación siempre surtido , batas y Pantunflas , el personal todos muy amables y atentos , tienen su propio servicio de taxis a toda hora , el hotel estaba en ocupación llena por ser Semana Santa , y de los grande que está el hotel siempre encontrabas mesa donde comer , camastros en área de alberca Todo muy bien cuidado en todos los aspectos Definitivamente volviera a hospedarme en Ava Resort !

Very good resort and stay for their rates Huge area Various amenities Nice pools Not that great beach, although very accessible, but needs a lot of work, NO CLEAR WATER!! Many restaurants and options, food is fine, Cancun quality anyway! Best option if you are traveling through expedia, you will get all the perks your are promised and for free. Brenda (supervisor) at check in and check out, was the best ever!!!!

Interior of the resort was quite beautiful. Exterior of the resort leaves quite a bit to be desired. The pool area is very condensed and crowded. You feel like you’re on top of the other guests at all times. We spent a lot of our vacation just waiting. Waiting on line for someone at the front desk, waiting in line for the buffet, waiting for service at the pool…just waiting. Pool chairs are nearly impossible to come by. Prepare to pay to rent a cabana if you want somewhere to sit down - or wake at 7:30 AM to save a pool chair. The resort really needs a better solution for the amount of chairs that are being “reserved” but sit empty all day. Restaurant reservations are very difficult at several restaurants in the resort particularly the steakhouse and Italian restaurant. Your best bet is to show up and see if anyone was a no-show and get a walk-in table. The best way to sum up this resort is simply ‘mid’. Not awful, not great. Mid-level quality, mid-level service mid-level amenities. It was a fair price for what we got, but I would not return, nor would I recommend.

Pasamos las mejores vacaciones en Cancún sin necesidad de salir de AVA. Las instalaciones son modernas e increíblemente limpias en todo lugar. La habitación es amplia y cómoda con una vista del mar increíble. Aunque había muchísimos huéspedes durante mi estancia en Ava ningún lugar se sintió aglomerado sobretodo en la piscina de agua salada o los restaurantes. La comida está bien aunque podría mejorar la calidad de algunos productos como embutidos y quesos. Y aumentar tipos de frutas como fresas, manzanas, duraznos, naranjas, etc. entre las cosas negativas están el uso de créditos por estadía que solo se pueden utilizar por un % de descuento en servicios, lo q quiere decir q siempre hay q pagar adicionales como spa, bowling, láser tag y definitivamente no incluía escape room, car simulator o el arcade. Además queríamos practicar paddle boarding y no estaba disponible tab solo kayaking y fue divertido también. El inflable es increíble pero hay q sacar turno para su uso y recomiendo hacerlo al rededor de las 9-9am ya q si hay mucha gente es posible que los tickets del día se terminen en minutos (la atención empieza a las 10am). Con respecto a la playa y el mar debo decir que lastimosamente el mar no es turquesa como en otros lugares de Cancún y en la orilla el agua aunque la arena es blanca el agua de mar se puede ver café :(. En general la estadía en este hotel es increíble, la recomiendo al 100% y yo estoy segura que regresaré!

The hotel structure is really good, food is amazing. The staff works really hard trying to be as efficient as they can but they are only humans. The hotel was full and clearly the staff wasn’t enough for the amount of people staying there. The hotel is gigantic and being a line makes it difficult to walk to everything, it’s a long walk even for adults. The beach is terrible, you can’t call that a beach, looks and feels more like a swamp. The kids club is nice and full of activities, as well as the activities at the pool. Scheduling everything was hard, we were in a big group so our reservations for dinner were always late night even when we scheduled it before arriving. The inflatable you had t stay in line for half an hour before opening if you wanted a spot. Our concierge, Sam made everything happen to us if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t be able to get dinner reservations, pool cabanas and so on. Drinks were good but the service at the family pool was slow since the hotel was packed. We waited 2 hours for food one of the days. We wouldn’t come back, it felt overwhelming for us bc of the amount of people, the constant long distance walkings the long waiting at the bars. our style of family vacation is more on smaller resorts.

Impossible to find poolside chairs, any seats by the pools. People are reserving them by going at 7am and leaving personal items. Nice resort but not my best experience. Also no lounges for customers when you check out from the room, our flight was in the late afternoon.

The Ava Resort hotel is very nice - it is very upgraded and new. I have no complaints about the property itself. My only complaint is the service and food was sub-par. The service was below what I would expect in a resort of this level - staff were not friendly and food took forever to arrive. The food and service in Veranda restaurant in particular was horrible. I wouldn't recommend going there but the teppanyaki was great. Pool area is beautiful and rooms are nice. Just depends what is important to you at an all inclusive.

Rodrigo (personal assistant) was absolutely outstanding! From the very beginning, he was attentive to what activities my kids were genuinely interested in, making sure every recommendation felt personalized and thoughtful. He checked in daily to see if we needed anything, which made us feel incredibly well taken care of throughout our stay. Food at the booked restaurants were great! Service at Chez Moi was very attentive and the server was knowledgeable and gave their personal fan favs. The steak size portions at The Butcher were a little too much IMO unless you’re a big eater, but my kids enjoyed it and the overall flavour. The onsite gelato ice cream was of course a hit for those who have kids (north wing had soft serve and south wing hand scooped).

I really wanted to love AVA Resort Cancun. It was everywhere on my social feeds—the photos looked incredible and I truly thought we were walking into a luxury experience. The pros: All rooms face the ocean, which is a huge win. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable (2 queens instead of doubles made a difference). The property is clean, modern, and well maintained, and there’s no shortage of things to do. Our flight was delayed and they graciously let us stay a few extra hours, which we appreciated. The cons: This resort is massive. Getting from our room to the family pool was easily a 10–15 minute walk, which got old quickly. But the biggest issue was the service. It was, unfortunately, subpar across the board. Waiting 10–15 minutes for drinks at any bar was common. Staff often seemed uninterested or would overlook you entirely. That level of inattentiveness was surprising and disappointing. Pool service was inconsistent at best—staff sometimes stayed in cabanas watching TV, were unresponsive, or simply said they couldn’t help. At even mid-tier resorts, we’ve experienced far more attentive and welcoming service. Here, it felt like guests were more of an inconvenience than a priority. Bars don’t open until 11am, but the pool is completely full by 8:30am. That means sitting in the sun for hours with no easy access to water. Copal- best restaurant, others were mid level quality. Overall- would not return unfortunately.

At night the music was very loud. If you have kids bring a sound machine. Music played until 10 pm. It sounded like the speakers were on our balcony. Pool service for food was a one hour wait. We found it was easier and faster to go to the buffet. Also trash cans were not emptied outside often enough causing flocks of birds to descend. Seaweed made swimming at the beach impossible.
