This photo was taken outside of Galax, Va at a place called Cumberland Knob. This very photo is the image that comes to mind when people think of the Appalachian Mountains. When I went to this part of the parkway, it amazed me of how peaceful this part of the country is. In the distance it almost looks as if heaven could be right on the other side of the fog that hovered right over the mountains. It also made me think how can the earth get flatter as traveling east after seeing this view. This picture represents the beauty that people fall in love with when visiting the Appalachian mountains. #appalachianechoes
