"Always a good stay in this hotel, friendly staff, food is good in restaurant l, parking is free, only negative for me was the steem room and hot tub were both closed. "

"A couple of issues like the pool being closed for a repaint for a couple of days. This is as out of their hands though so not the hotel’s fault. They were wonderful and gave us a free upgrade to compensate for the lack of pool. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and relaxing. They were happy for us to have an extra hour the next day as we had slept in, The bed was far too comfortable. It was the best night’s sleep we have ever experienced. We didn’t have breakfast but the breakfast area was modern and had plenty of space. The interiors were modern and well kept. There was a little bit of paint that needed a new coat due to peeling in the bathroom behind the door but that was the only possible thing that could be done to improve the interior that we saw. It certainly made no difference to our stay. They had decorators in doing some upkeep other rooms so I am sure they are making sure they keep their high standards. The service is that of a five star hotel. They really go that extra mile. Even calling us a taxi for an event we were attending, without hesitation. The staff were extremely friendly, so much so, that we would not hesitate in staying here again. They are a huge asset to Holiday Inn. Infact, I was extremely impressed with the interior design, the bar and restaurant area looked very up to date and well maintained. Book, you won’t be disappointed. "

"I messaged them early on the day of checkin to advise i would be late. Upon arriving they could not find my reservation and kept me waiting with no resolution at 2.30am just wanting to go to sleep I had to contact 24 hour guest support for them to find the reservation and eventually check me into my room but blame was placed on me by customer support saying that they couldn't guarantee a message was received as i booked through hotels.com and not them. I stopped in a motorway service to ensure I wasn't driving tired and then got blamed for their rubbish systems. Pretty disgusted"

"Best hotel in the area by a mile. Friendly staff (Jules on reception is a gem and Kuba on the bar makes a great Espresso Martini!). Breakfast is plentiful with great choices of hot and cold food. Rooms are lovely. Whenever we are in the area this is the only place we stay. Highly recommended. "

"Don’t stay here. This property is definitely not 4 star. Three star at best. From the outside it looks very much the country house hotel and promises so much that it just doesn’t deliver. Once through the entrance doors that feel good from the outside evaporates. It cries out for refurbishing; is tired and run down with worn out stained carpets and poor decor. The gym and pool changing areas were worse than municipal baths and the pool itself rather drab. We felt it safer for our health not to use it. The bar and restaurant were uninspiring and not somewhere you’d wish to spend much time. The restaurant menu had limited choices of a couple of Indian main courses or basic pub fayre. The food was bland but at least palatable. Breakfast was not worth the extra charge. The only fresh fruit was watermelon and pineapple or the oranges being used to make juice. Cold and hot buffet choices were limited and some of the food looked like it had been there for days. Our room on the first floor was on the route to the pool and gym. The corridor had an overpowering smell of chlorine which thankfully at least didn’t invade the bedroom. The room was small and although the decor was okay the wardrobe and cupboard doors looked about 50 years old and tatty. Tv was limited to freeview with no internet options or ability to cast. Shower was not hot only warm. Complained but nothing done about it. Suspect thermostat was turned down to save money. Staff at least were pleasant if not very helpful."

"Room was a tad on the small size for a supposed 4* hotel. I did book twin beds but they were joined. Glass door on the bathroom with the loo nearest to the door was a bit awkward. Some building work going on in the property next door made the room noisy from early in the morning. The air con turning itself on off all night didn’t make for a good sleep. No coat hooks in the room. No sanitary bags in the bathroom. To top it all youngsters (14-16 yr olds) seemingly unsupervised in the late evening, speaking loudly outside our room for 20 mins until I had a word with them. When I informed a member of staff to relay this to their supervisors I was told I should have contacted management before. Unfortunately we also had the same the next night, even with them schussing each other! The wait of over 20mins for 2 poached eggs each seemed a long wait at breakfast. We unsurprisingly didn’t get asked if we enjoyed our stay on checkout…."

"All the pictures on the list are if a big apartment with a balcony, and it was more expensive than other nearby ones, balcony is specifically why i chose this property at a higher price. However on check in it was an apt without a balcony, i was advised only the premium has a balcony, nowhere on thr listing does it differentiate between the standard and premium appointment. I tried calling the host several times and left them a message but no one got back to. Very poor communication and i felt misled by the listing. I would not stay again "
