The food at this resort is so terrible, luckily there is a taco shop across the street we went there every night because I definitely would’ve gotten sick from the food there. The bartenders are super awesome, but the staff is pretty disappointing overall. The pool and beach are really small and just not a lot of space. I don’t have much good to say about this place other than the rooms are nice.

The property was nice and clean, the food was good. The major issue was check in. The line was long and employees were working at snail pace. We worked up 3-4am in the morning to flew there. Everyone was tired, hungry, and sleepy. What a way to start a vacation with 1 hour waiting in line!

I loved everything about the resort, except for the beach. It was very small, and the water was dirty. It was also not quiet at all because of the big boats coming in and out all day long.

Cancun was lovely but my stay at the Occidental was okay, largely because of the quality of my room and food options. Safety is hugely important and the lock on my terrace door was broken. It seems like the hotel tried to fix it by putting a makeshift latch onto the door but that isn’t a proper solution. Also, the bolt-lock on my entryway door was broken. It seems like there had been no previous efforts to fix it. Lastly - I came across a few mosquitoes in the room, more so than I ever have before in tropical/warm countries that I’m visiting. The front desk said that they would fumigate but I’m unsure if the fumigation ever happened (or if it did, whether it even worked). In addition - the food options were underwhelming, especially for an all inclusive resort. As someone who is traveling with a person who is vegan, we struggled to find decent food options daily on the resort. Overall - the resort is nice but certain aspects do need to be worked out to ensure all guests have a great stay.

Live environment. Family oriented. Food was amazing. Small hotel but perfect for a budget vacation. Spa was good and relaxing. Bartenders were so welcoming. Drinks could be better but not the bartender fault quality of the mix juices could be better. Beach is small but well kept. When you get in they check you in then ask you to sit to make dinner reservations at the same time they will offer you to visit there other hotel and offer timeshares and a free bottle of tequilla or discounted spa package. If you are into timeshares go if not you are not missing anything. Overall this hotel was a good place to spend a short time. If your looking for budget and small family hotel here is the llace if you are looking for more upscale, big beach, more resturants and upgraded rooms look elsewhere.

Even though the AC in the room wasn't working properly, the overhead fan kept us comfortable. The hotel is kept impeccably clean, the staff are extremely friendly & cheerful, there are lots of activities during the day and evening, the food at the restaurants was delicious (I cut my steak with a butter knife it was so tender). Will definitely stay here again.

There was a constant unpleasant smell of sewage in the bathroom of my room. There was also no hair conditioner provided. Otherwise, we were satisfied with our stay at this hotel: regular and thorough cleaning, a clean and well-maintained territory, and most importantly, friendly staff always ready to help.

The best were the shows they did every night, there was also live and instrumental music. The cleaning is not very good, especially in the bathrooms. Stuff is Bad and incompetent, few people not enough to serve everybody, few waiters and atendente, antipathetic and slow. rooms has bad smell because of bad air condition. Restaurantes are small and crowded e long time waiting on foot to get a table with bad food and bad service. Elevators was broken for two day and we were obliged to use stairs for 5 flores. It was a bad experience I will not go back and I don´t recommend for every body, It dosen´t worth it, price is not so good for what you recive. it´s expensive .
