The staff is amazing and the place is very clean. However it is smaller than appears online and there is very little entertainment Barely any music playing even at the 2 bars. There is not a pool swim up bar. The lobby bar is beside the pool but inconvenient and the beach bar isn’t much better. I felt like I was in my own backyard how small the property is. Also THE ONLY SMOKING AREA is OUTSIDE THE HOTEL PROPERTY. a bench on the sidewalk. but you can request a smoking balcony room for a small daily fee $30 USD per night If you’re looking for a very low key place with great staff and clean property this place is for you. If you’re looking for any more than that probably not

Ehile the hotel itself is nice, be advised, this is party Central. Every room faced the courtyard so you could not escape the blaring live musical events that happened nightly. So if you have peace and quiet in mind, this place is not for you. Secondly, the customer service was severely lacking. The front desk was always always understaffed. When I went to ask about an item that I lost in the pool area. I had to file a report, come back another day, file a report with a different person and after all of that and 72 hours of trying, no one could even tell me whether my item was turned in. not go back.

The hotel was very clean , the food sucked at all the restaurants and all they wanted was your money since we walked in the door , the front desk staff was slow and they did not even try to accommodate, the security thought they were actual cops lol the water sports agent did not explain anything before purchase I was there for 8 days and they were still asking for me room # then when I needed to extend my stay do to weather they were trying to make me pay more then I actually paid for my original stay never returning would not recommended please stay away

Occidental Costa was a nice stay, rooms were clean, water hot, air cold, staff was extremely friendly, kind & helpful. The resort is smaller, 1 pool, beach is small. I'd say my only negative was there are 4 restaurants A mexican, Italian, seafood & the buffet. We stayed 6 days, so they said we get 3 reservations for a 6 day stay. You can only make reservation 2 days ahead, not 1, not the day of, it was kind of strange. We did get into all 3, but honestly I wanted to leave the restaurants and head to the buffet each time we actually did from the seafood restaurant. I'm a foodie, but I give alot of grace at all inclusives, (I also was raised by a Mexican grandma) so I think thats why I found the buffet food so comforting. They always had a great selection, good comfort food, breakfast, lunch & dinner, clean, and staff was Sooo friendly. So 4 stars because the reservations issue was irritating. But 5 stars to the resort and staff. The entertainers for the poolside & activities were great. For the price, and a nice calm, pleasant trip I think it was worth every penny. Also not big drinkers so not sure about liquor quality we did gave some mango mezcal drinks, which didnt feel very strong I'm sure it's watered down i had to adk for a few exrra shots of the mezcal, but it was perfect for a cool refreshing frozen drink by the pool for us. Not the biggest, best or most exquisite resort, but cute, clean, and very comfortable!

The staff was the most positive aspect from this stay! The food was good but average for Mexico.The beach was unfortunately subpar due to it's location directly next to the ferry ( the crocodile warning signs because of the Nichupte lagoon nearby were also a bit alarming). Bar closes at 10:30 so be prepared to go elsewhere past this time. Room was outdated and the smell was a bit funky. Beds were comfortable though. This is a good budget friendly resort for a family with younger children but not for adults looking for the Cancun experience (beautiful beaches, nightlife,etc...)

The staff were all great the grounds and buildings all very clean and well maintained. My only complaint would be the food there were somethings I enjoyed but few and far between . The food quality seemed lack luster . If the food was better I would say I would definitely return but I doubt I will simply because the food wasn't all that good.

We recently had a 3 week stay in the Occidental Costa cancun. Check in and check out was quick and effortless. The terrace room we stayed in was immaculate and probably recently renovated. Shower was large and had a bench for the ladies. Always had hot water at any time. I found the beds extremely comfortable and the climate control for the rooms was perfect.The entire resort is maintained excellently. House keeping was excellent as well. room was always taken care of and water/beer/softdrinks in fridge replaced daily. I can't say enough about the staff, everyone was very friendly and polite and made us feel very welcome. The food was good and had plenty of options from fresh fruits to salads, pastries, chicken, fish, beef, pork, vegetables. They had a build your own pizza which is cooked in a stone oven as well as burgers, hotdogs, fries for the kids or picky eaters.There is a line up to get into the buffet... but only during peak times.. the line goes quick as the waiters and the staff that seat you are right on top of things to clear a table quick for the next guests. There is plenty of loungers around the pool and beach area. You still may want to get up earlier to get the premium sun locations. The beach area is smaller and we knew that coming there. The shows are held outdoors so it may get a bit noisy if you are relaxing in your room but they shutdown at exactly 10 pm, with the bar closing at 11 pm. This is more of a family and relaxing resort. We loved it!

Staff was very polite, wonderful customer service. We liked the pool and beach areas, very family friendly and easy to keep an eye on our children.
