The Oswego Hotel

The Oswego Hotel

8/10 Good
"The premium suites at the Oswego Hotel are beautiful — spacious, comfortable and very well appointed. We really enjoyed the layout and overall feel of the suite, and the hotel itself has a lot going for it. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by some maintenance and safety issues. The hot-water kettle was leaking, which was concerning from a safety perspective, and a broken kitchen drawer created a trip hazard. These are the kinds of issues that should ideally be identified during routine room checks before guests arrive. Our initial experience with the front desk was also disappointing, as we did not feel our concerns were handled particularly well. However, once the issues were escalated to the manager, Reveena, she was excellent — responsive, professional and genuinely helpful. She took our concerns seriously and made a real effort to resolve the situation, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, the premium suite itself was lovely and we could see the appeal of the hotel. With more consistent attention to maintenance and safety the experience, we would stay in the premium suites again."

"Room was a good size for our family! Not often a hotel is comfy for five of us. Nice to have a bedroom and large pull out sofa. The building could use some updates or repairs (water stains on ceiling, water damage on door, etc) but I still think it was a great deal for the price and the bedding and bathroom and everything were clean."

Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA

Coast Victoria Hotel & Marina by APA

8/10 Good
"We booked this on line, and very honestly, it may have been one of the more expensive hotels we have ever booked. From some perspectives it was very good--location, cleanliness, attractiveness, staff, etc. but from some other perspectives we were not positively impressed--i.e. the air conditioning unit was so noisy we had to turn it off in order to be able to sleep, there was no shuttle service available until mid-afternoon, not when we needed it, very tiny deck, etc. Fortunately, after reporting the noisy air con unit, a very helpful maintenance person (Jay) came the next day and repaired the unit. We also were informed that we would not "qualify" for the voucher for the hotel restaurant since we booked our room with Expedia (which was never mentioned at any time). We feel the detractions were significant enough to lower our rating to a high average or good."
