Spanning over 183 acres (74 hectares), the Singapore Botanic Gardens provide a great day out for nature lovers and families. Visitors to the gardens can discover local species of plants, a vast range of wildlife and an excellent location for a picnic.

Singapore is one of only two cities in the world that is home to a tropical rainforest garden visitors will discover a dense canopy that provides shelter from the sun.

The place is huge and much more than a normal person could do unless they plan to spend the whole day there and also walk until they are weary. There is a small fee to get into the orchid garden, but all the other parts seemed to be free. The ginger garden (near the orchid garden) is free and really nice. Plan to spend the whole day there and pace yourself!
