We paid slightly more for a premium river view walk and we did not regret it. Perfect view in the morning and dusk of the world passing by. Loved walking along Durham riverwalk. Highly recommend but would recommend you get dropped off if possible as parking is not free and can stack up if you’re staying more than one night. "

"We were initially given a room on the first floor, but on returning after going for a meal, we were asked to move, to a room on the ground floor. After five minutes we were asked to move again to the first floor, next to our original room!. The receptionist was very apologetic. We think the bathroom needs updating, it has a shower over the bath, but no hand rails, so getting in and out, can be difficult, as there is nothing to hold on to."
