"Unique farmhouse property with a lovely sunporch overlooking the pond and farm. Surrounded by friendly goats and assorted geese, ducks, chickens, roosters, farm cats and a pig nicknamed “Vlad the Destroyer”. Great freshly-made breakfasts, too. "
"I loved everything about Kilauea Lodge. The lush rain forest surrounding the lodge, the relaxing and soothing hot tub, our very comfortable and spacious room and the delicious dinner at the lodge restaurant. We had a wonderful time!"
"We had a wonderful stay at the Volcano Forest Inn. The large room, access to the full kitchen/common area, the quiet location surrounded by the rainforest, and the private deck allowed us to enjoy a relaxing visit. The inn has a great location just outside the national park. We were able to stop at several places before they became busy. There was a good amount of information on the area and a tv with current info on the volcano. The rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Overall,...

Ka'awaloa Plantation Bed & Breakfast
10/10 Excellent
"A spectacular property that is very well-kept and impeccably decorated. Comfortable and very clean. Owners and staff are great. Breakfast is amazing. Great experience. You can't go wrong staying here. "
"I've travelled a lot over the last 4 decades and Kona Palace has the best view of any property I've stayed in. It is cozy and secluded and it was amazing just to sit on the patio and watch the sun come up from the side of a mountain! The surrounding foliage is beautiful and the accomodations are comfortable. The cherry on top was finding we had a hot tub!"
"We have stayed at the colony I at sea mountain in pahala twice. We absolutely love this place, the people are veey nice and make you feel at home. I love the privacy and how quite it is. Its also a 5 minute walk to the beach where you can see the green sea trutles."
"Torri was the best hostess ever!!! Very friendly funny and kind!!! Always gave great adventure advice for the island!!! Breakfast was bomb with a great variety!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and that’s all due to Torri!!! What an awesome nugget to find in such a beautiful place for our honeymoon!!!"
"Our cute yellow bedroom was adorable. We spent evening hours out on the lanai - Reading out on the lanai was so relaxing! Listening to all the nightly chirping was cool.
Emma cooked wonderful breakfasts that started our days eating upstairs on their outdoor patio.
Carl shared all the fruits around their home that Emma used.
Location was great - we went to one beach 2.5 miles south and saw fish and a sea turtle. Snorkeled at step down beach - cool fish seen.
We ventured 15 -25 min for evening meals.
Note: downtown Kona parking charges $15/hr - we stayed for one hour to view all the artisans at their art show.
Again great b& b - highly recommend!"
"I did not realise that we were staying in a plantation village, with multiple accommodation. I had made a request for two beds and, as it was a slow time of year, we got two bedrooms. Pahala is a very cute town (and currently the only one with a grocery store as the one in Naalehu was no longer as at 28 Jan 25). The people were also really friendly. The only thing to consider is the roosters. If you want to sleep in - close the windows. We didn't, as the black sand beach was all ours at sunrise, then came back to Pahala for coffee at the Ka'u Coffee Mill. "
