Liked: 1) The owner met us upon arrival and indicated where to park; 2) The “jungle-like” setting; 3) The quiet setting; 4) The cottage-like unit, especially the tree trunk columns; and 5) The papaya and fig bar “continental breakfast.”
Not liked: 1) The lack of clear signage and way-finding; and 2) The mustiness of the unit.
Nice clean room in a unique rainforest like setting. Hosts were lovely and provided coffee, tea, hot chocolate, ramen, oatmeal, fresh fruit and a delicious homemade banana bread! The location was very peaceful and we enjoyed listening to nature at night. We were also very close to Volcano National Park!
The place was easy to find with the directions provided by the property. We loved being so close to the park and getting to explore the volcano areas during our short visit. Oatmeal, fresh fruit and coffee provided made a great breakfast and the fresh baked banana bread was an added bonus! I would highly recommend the Aloha Crater Lodge to anyone wanting to be close to the volcanos national park.
This place was great especially for a larger group. Amazing view from front window and very convenient and close to Volcano National Park. Easy check in and checkout as well!
This is a great property. If you are looking to visit the volcanoes national park in Hawaii you should definitely think about living at this place. The breakfast was amazing too.
It is very close to Hawaii Volcano National Park. The rooms are clean and the instruction to check-in is clear.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Rustic but comfortable and everything needed for our trip. Check-in was easy. Manager worked with us to coordinate status from volcano eruption and road closures.
Wonderful picturesque and soulful place with all of the necessities.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Room I booked had strong mildew smell. Owner solved problem by allowing us to move to upstairs unit. This was so much better. Appreciate the responsiveness.
Hot tub is very old and beat up. Time for an upgrade. But sitting there at night with frogs and moonlight was awesome.
Lava tube was closed. This was a bummer as it’s why we picked this place.
Very close to park entrance. Short drive.
It is 3 miles from Volcanoes National park entrance. Unit was very nice and quiet, the fruit and oatmeal and coffee that was provided meant we didn't need to go out for breakfast!
This unit, Orchid room, had a fancy fish pond in one section of the room, and a nice walkin tiled shower.
This was a very comfortable place to stay very close to the national park. We were there for a very short stay but were very happy with our accommodations.
Pleasant stay. we spent the day at the Volcano Natl Park which is only 7 minutes away. had dinner in town, checked in about 5pm. when you drive onto the property you feel like you are in the middle of the rain forrest. really appreciated the tasty banana bread, snacks, and fruit that was left out. our room had a hot tub, which we didnt use. the matress was comfy. very quiet surrondings.
