Love this little gem of a place. Have stayed here twice over the past year in two different rooms. The bed could use an upgrade, it was a little too soft and the pillows small. Besides that, it is thoughtfully stocked and wonderful grounds. The views are amazing!

Hilltop Vacation Rental was great for our needs which was a place to stay for 1 night in Hilo. The property sits on a hill which was lovely for being in a quiet area and for privacy. The house, room, and bathroom was clean and we felt safe. The house is older, so just keep this in mind when

the property was loud, fake birds chirping loudly all night, dog would bark a lot, can hear people in adjoining rooms. Ear pods but can't sleep with anything in my ear. only received housekeeping 2x with 6 night stay. Towels smelled. AC was not well equipped for sleeping area. One last night there someone tried to get into room at 11pm by using pin code on door. Didn't feel safe there. Big gap under all rooms.

A very sweet, well-kept stately old property that exudes then charm of old Hilo. Check in was easy- note there are some fairly steep stairs leading up to the front door, as well as stairs within the house. I was very comfortable in my efficiency room, and especially appreciated the water, condensation, and diamond bakery cream crackers which were a much needed snack during my Merrie Monarch adventures! A great location and a comfortable place to stay for any Hilo vacation.

We absolutely loved the location and the beautiful common areas at Hilltop Legacy — peaceful surroundings and stunning views! The host was very friendly and even took time to chat with us and share some great local recommendations. The bathroom didn’t have a vent, so it could get a bit musty after use, and we missed having a microwave and an iron. Also, if you’re a light sleeper, the hens cooing through the night might be a bit disruptive. Overall, a charming place with a lot of character and hospitality!

Amazing view from the king suite! Charming character and appreciated keurig with coffee pods and creamer, silverware and paper plates, etc. Walls thin and had some disturbance from one neighbor. Parking is difficult and steep.

View from the house is beautiful especially sunrise in the morning. Walking distance to Hilo downtown. Property is at decent conditions. No elevator then if you don’t mind to carry luggages upstairs.

This is a very economical but charming place to stay. It has more of an Airbnb feel to it. The setting is quite wonderful. I think for it to be convenient it helped a lot to have a vehicle. Good small refrigerator, small microwave and a Keureg coffee maker, but not much else for food preparation and eating. I enjoyed the chickens.

A great place to stay

Great views of the ocean and surrounding greenery. The property is well maintained and the communal area with pool table and games Is a great touch. Jade and the team went to every effort to make sure our stay was amazing. A 5 minute drive Into Hilo town but beware if you choose to walk it, the 20 minute walk back is all uphill.

We loved our 7-night stay at Hilltop vacation rental! We had the economy room with a view of the ocean and it was very cool to wake up to the sun rising. The room was clean, there was a shower and bathroom and all of the necessary essentials for our stay—coffee maker, small fridge, etc…The parking was a bit tight, but our rental Jeep fit into the parking spots! It was a quiet and peaceful stay. Would definitely recommend!

Stunning views at a reasonable price

We absolutely loved sitting on our balcony throughout our stay. It was definitely the highlight of this room, with stunning views and peaceful breezes (except the crowing roosters). The location of this property gave us easy access to everything we wanted to do in the Hilo area, which was a big plus. The price was more than reasonable and the hosts were helpful. The only downside was substandard pillows and a hard bed (which someone else might not mind, but I found uncomfortable). All in all, I would recommend this location.

We had an relaxing one-night stay at the hilltop retreat! The host was incredibly kind and accommodating, making sure every aspect of our experience was top-notch. The ocean views were breathtaking, and the sounds of the tropical rain throughout the night created a magical ambiance. The king bed was super comfortable, and I loved the creative floor plan of the unit—it added a unique charm to the whole experience. Five stars all the way for this charming and relaxing getaway!
