I too was looking at reviews, constantly, and wondering where I should go for premium warm destination experience. Rest assured, if you are considering Secrets Maroma for a relaxing 360-degree all inclusive experience - your investment will pay its return. The inviting reception from the moment you enter the resort, to the extremely smooth check-in process, and welcome drink with a cold hand towel - you’re greeted to a place that the Secrets team calls “home”. The room design is a masterpiece. It’s extremely clean and smells amazing. We went for a birthday and were greeted with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room. The beach was incredible. The sand is the best I’ve ever seen before. The water (from a distance) is that blue-green colour that is gorgeous. From a distance because the water at shore is unfortunately impacted with sargassum which is not to the fault of the resort. The food was by far and large the best we’ve had at an all inclusive. The restaurants are all fantastic with Bordeaux and El Patio the top two. Entertainment was exceptional, considering it’s an all-inclusive. Every other night, it was effectively Cirque-Du-Soleil-Lite with the quality of performances. And the staff. They were truly all phenomenal. The resort likes us calling out names specifically, but there truly were too many to remember to call out. Highly recommend!"

"Absolutely everything was wonderful from the minute we checked in until the moment we checked out! The pool was awesome! The staff was amazing! The food was very good and we never went hungry! The drinks were plentiful! The staff always went above and beyond! The entire grounds were beautiful! If I had to make a complaint, it would be with the Coatis! They are absolutely obnoxious and I wish you could get rid of them, or quarantine them off. You offer food on the beach with picnic tables for people to sit, but most can't sit there because these obnoxious animals will actually jump on the table and steal people's food. It scary and dangerous. I have actually seen them grab food right out of people's hands! I really detest these animals. I think maybe fencing in the food eating area may help. That would actually be my only complaint. Our first trip here was 21 years ago, and we absolutely love the Iberostars. Lots has changed, but we still keep coming back. Thank you for another wonderful vacation!"

"Overall great place, a little too many kids for my liking and was designed around families for sure. Zero to do really after dinners, couple lame “shows” (again kid designed) place is huge (when combining all resorts) One club!!! That’s it!! bars are weird, all set up like an open lunch room setting. No dimmed lights, lounge atmosphere, a place to have a drink and listen to music with the Mrs. And enjoy… staff was 100% awesome, over the top (Except for the lady at the 24hr coffee shop, 7ish am )she was angry about something in life! Went with 2 daughters 18/24 and we felt they were safe and could do their thing with no worry. Clean, mostly convenient, golf cart ride if not, perfect for the family needing a break. Wildlife galore, neat to watch, plenty of walking routes in the early am, room was ok, A/C cold, we got reservations at the better dining, no issues. Hibachi is the hit! If you like a high end drink, it’s not happening, cheap syrups or canned beer it is. Would I recommend? Sure, would I go again? No, it’s just not for me. I like to spend my rare time off at a more upscale resort. Price was right, place is nice, if you have younger kids, sign up! Just not for me…"

"Staff was amazing! Overall cleanliness was good. The pools were amazing. Could have used more trashcan areas, more places to get napkins and this kind of supplies and a few more benches along the path."

"Work was great. The drinks were fine. Good burger was good. The kids had a good time. One complaint is the stores prices or merchandise is outrageous. $80 for a stuffed animal is a crazy ask for. They would make so much more money if they charged $20-$30 I would’ve bought four or five of those things."

"The meals were exceptional at Palafitos with their 5 star resturant. We were pampered the whole stay. One exception is be on the lookout for the massage prices at the Spa. Massages are way over priced yo the point of being market ridiculous. However the gym and hydrotherapy areas are excellent."

"Friendly staff, great entertainment and food. The property is beautiful and lush. I like the fact it’s only 20 mins from the airport too. They serve premium alcohol and many activities. The beach is fantastic and private. Amazing place!"

"Everything was excellent except for the food hours they were closed really early and the hotel comes with jet ski and catamaran but you only need to book it like a month in ahead to be able to have fun of all those amenities that the hotel has"
