"Some refurbishment going on but this did not interfere with our stay. The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal. The bar was well stocked and a marvelous selection of spirits. The room was very well maintained and comfortable. "

"Two adults and 2 children stayed in no2 cottage. A compact one bedroom cottage with a large comfortable bed and sofa bed in sitting room. Kitchen has all you need for short stay. Vehicles kept in gated area, so very secure. Stu and his wife are friendly, their breakfast was excellent quality for price (additional charge). This must be the cheapest pub in the UK.(£3 pint) Overall we had a very pleasant 3 nights. Thank you. "

"Such a wonderful overnight stay, the reception staff were welcoming upon arrival, our room was perfect and had a fanatstic view. The golfing staff were really friendly and helpful. The food in Tykes for the evening meal was amazing, the best pork I've ever had! Breakfast was lovely, a perfect place to stay, we will be back! "

They've done a great job of the hotel and grounds, and it's a great location in the village opposite the church. Easy access to nearby towns, the moors and the coastline. Would highly recommend. "Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here."

"For someone who doesn't drive, this is a perfect spot, 10mins walk from train station, and local village, bus right outside property going to whitby and the moors. Accommodation itself perfect, everything you need and the hot tub was a bonus, very quiet area"

"Stayed with my daughter in a twin room. Really comfy beds. Room looked good, cosy and was clean. Nice toiletries in the bathroom and liked the addition of a duck for my daughter’s bath. Great breakfast! Staff friendly. We ate dinner in the pub too and that was lovely. All in all a great stay and we’d recommend. "

"We had a really good stay. The cottage is beautiful and equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need. Our son really enjoyed the garden, in particular the Wendy House which was also kitted out with toys, which was a lovely bonus. The village is peaceful but perfect for a nice walk. We would thoroughly recommend the property and would stay again. "
