An OK stay, common areas are a little tired, first morning we waited 20 mintes for someone to bring a menu and take our order, second morning was better. Great location with easy access to North York Moors.

We started our tour on the Cleveland Way in Helmsley. After a Long day we got. a room near the kitchen wich was noisy and not really comfortable. All in all was the hotel not the price valid we payed

Lovely stay at the Black Swan

We had a lovely stay at the Black Swan. Very impressed with the staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nice and the lunches and evening meals were very good too. Ideal location and lovely homely feel. Would definitely visit again, good value for money

A little piece of paradise in gods own county

Our fourth stay at The Black Swan and it never disappoints. We stayed with our dog Polly and as the hotel is dog friendly there were several other guests with their dogs. The hotel is always very peaceful and quiet when we stay and the room was very cosy and comfortable. Staff are always very friendly and engaging. Food and bar service always excellent. We’re planning on staying here again with family to celebrate my 60th as we love the pub, Helmsley and the area.

Lovely, quirky building with individual rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast selection was good and was beautifully cooked, but the dinner menu needs to be revisited. It wasn't a great selection and three out of the four meals our party had, were bland and didn't deliver the flavours promised in the description.

I loved everything about the Black Swan except for the attention to detail when it came to cleanliness Pillowcase so I’m one of the beds was dirty was not replaced

nice stay but room very small

the room was really small more like a cupboard number 63 avoid if you can as its not big enough to swing a cat around as we were only staying the one night i didn't complain but if i had been staying longer certainly would on the plus side it was clean. Bar areas and outside were plentiful although when the sun comes out people are vying for the tables in the sun. Quite a lot of steps into the beer garden so be careful as one of our party tripped and that was before alcohol! The chairs in the bar areas could have been a little more plush as they weren't the best for comfort.
