「Stayed for a couple of nights while in town for a wedding. Clean and comfortable room. Had a 4th floor room; it was quiet even though it was close to the elevator. Friendly staff. Great coffee. Standard free breakfast. Easy and quick drive to the center of Lexington. I’d recommend staying here, I’d definitely stay again.」

「We have stayed at the Gin many times and this stay was very good. The property, while historic, is well maintained and clean. I was concerned by some reviews but found everything to be well cared for. Our accessible room was large, spotlessly clean, had high ceilings, heavy woodwork, and a modern updated bath. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast is minimal and self-serve but was adequate for our needs.」

I felt like that was something that could have been waived. Also my key cards didn’t work after the first day and when I went to get them fixed the front desk person asked me why I was given a room in the dungeon, I also had several people on my floor slamming doors and yelling in the hall way past midnight. 「I stayed at this historic hotel for 3 nights back in July 2016 and absolutely loved it. The hotel was MUCH busier back then, completely full of guests. Now, in July 2026, I am sad to say that the hotel is not up to the same standard that it was 10 years ago. The entry had a musty smell, as did the 2nd floor hallway.
