"Loved my stay here! Staff were so welcoming and helpful during my stay. Enjoyed the Commons restaurant and Bar as well as Eve restaurant. Hotel is well located and it’s very easy to walk to most interests, including the Royal Mile/High Street, the castle and Palace."

"Other guests were given Prosecco on arrival but we didn’t.Reception staff did not seem to be that proficient and did not know if they could provide a chair for the shower also the fridge was not working all was put right in the end "

"We had a short, one night stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. Beautiful lobby and big and clean guest rooms. Loved that they actually had a real coffee maker in the room, along with complimentary sweets. Check in was easy and we were able to have them hold our luggage (no cost) as we had to turn in our rental car. Staff was friendly and we were provided special treats at check in. We paid for the buffet breakfast, which was very good and offered a nice array of food options. We felt as though we were in a very safe area and we were able to get to Princes St and the Royal Mile quite easily. "

"The hotel is in a good location, close enough to everything but slightly away from the hustle and bustle. which meant it was peaceful and we slept well. The room was well appointed with everything you could need. Plenty of space for two people. We didn’t really need the kitchenette as we were eating out but the coffee machine was nice. "

"We had booked a superior room. The room was ok but not superior in any way. There was no face flannel and not even a biscuit. Not dirty but not scrupulously clean either. Dust around the edge of carpet and on plastic picture over bed. The desk had been bashed by luggage and the laminate had peeled off in places. The bed was comfy and the shower good and hot. The staff were friendly although not overly attentive. The hotel was ok for an overnight stay but we have had better."

"We arrived early and were able to check in to our room right away. Our room was a basement room, but very bright and spacious for two adults and a child. We could not fault the cleanliness either. Our room had an iron an ironing board as well the usual tea / coffee making facilities; and a tray with bottled water, packets of crisps and small packets of biscuits. We didn’t realise until check out that these were free, and were given the opportunity to go back and help ourselves (we hadn’t officially checked out at that point) We didn’t order breakfast because there were two picky eaters and it would have been a waste. When we checked out the following morning, we left 4 bags and a helium balloon for storage until nearer our journey home. When we returned nearer lunch time and sat in the bar / lounge area to eat our own lunches etc. Helen was really good with my granddaughter, chatting away to her and answering any questions she had. The manager, receptionist and Donna all chatted with her and asked about her mermaid doll. The Manager then asked if she wanted to use the walkie talkie to speak to all staff. My granddaughter said yes and was told to say “hello everyone”, to which Donna replied into her walkie talkie. This hotel is very close to Edinburgh Playhouse and tram stops too, making it an ideal place to stay when visiting Edinburgh - and the price we paid was very reasonable compared to a lot of the other places nearby. I’d definitely stay here again."
