We enjoyed our stay at The Resident as it was well located to what we had planned and the staff was quite pleasant. However, as far as value - we felt the room to be small for the price paid. We also felt the bathroom tub was quite dangerous to get in and out of — as one had to step very far up and INTO it without a bar to hold or a proper door. The door of the shower also leaked a bit and we didn’t care for that as it required us to be rather mindful. If you’re looking for amenities - this hotel doesn’t seem to have many. No parking. No bar. However, it does have a great happy hour where they serve free drinks? So that was fun. Housekeeping was also pretty solid as they came every day for turn down, even on the days we woke up late. For a short stay, The Resident could be ideal.

Can't say enough good things about my stay here - even extended it an extra night because it was so nice. The staff members were all so friendly! Special shout-out to Ed who was so warm and helpful. The nightly hour for complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby was a real treat, and there were great local books to peruse in the library. Prime location, easy to reach from the airport and close to the tram. The room was spotless, and the kitchenette made for a great added bonus. Plus, a free bottle of wine for Expedia members upon check-in! I will be back!

Everything was great. Our second time staying after they saved us from a really poor hotel last year. This is a great hotel and they always treat us amazing. It was great to have such a nice view and the team gave us a lovely card welcoming us back. We will always stay here when visiting.

Einfach top! Die Lage direkt an Dean Village ist ideal, sehr zentral gelegen und entspricht voll und ganz den Fotos. Das Personal war super höflich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind sehr ruhig, wir haben während unseres Aufenthalts nicht einmal die Zimmernachbarn gehört. Für uns steht fest: Wenn wir noch einmal nach Edinburgh fahren, buchen wir zu 100% wieder hier.

Everything from the moment we walked in before checking in to the moment we walked out a few days later when we left was absolutely excellent. It's a gem of a hotel right in the centre, great amenities within seconds, yet so quiet while in the room it's just lovely after a day out.

On entering the hotel we got a very warm welcome. The lady checking us in was excellent, warm and friendly. The room was thoughtfully laid out. Felt like a small apartment, especially with the mini kitchen area which was great. Some might think the room is a little small but we found it fine, we only slept there as we were out exploring most of the time. Everything was exceptionally clean in the room and corridors etc. Nice toiletries, fantastic shower and a GHD hairdryer. The room was quiet even with the window open. The heating/cooling controls were easy to work. The breakfast place they recommended, The Huxley was also excellent. The location of the hotel is excellent. Nice quiet street but It’s a short walk to either princess street or into Stockbridge. We’ve stayed in Edinburgh a few times and this was by far our favourite. Would definitely recommend. 10/10
