"It’s a beautiful property but so outdated. I felt that most of the staff was completely “checked out” - pun intended. I had a simple request that I asked the concierge 3 nights in a row and not one time was it ever handled. I really just don’t get it. Half of the time our room was fully serviced and the other half not. Coffees not replenished, etc. Breakfast was probably the worst food I have ever had. The server could not understand our words for bread or toast, even when we used Spanish and made no attempt to ask for assistance or clarification. Just pretended the order was never made I guess. Baffling. "

"Great location with great views. If you don’t mind bring a giant hotel with waits for breakfast and elevators, you will love it. Roof top bar is amazing and staff is so kind. However, for the price I expected more. Rooms are basic. Bathroom amenities are non-existent. Room decor, super basic, almost motel like. So come for those other reasons if you don’t mind the negative things I mentioned. "

"This hotel was amazing. The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. The facilities and rooms are spotless and comfortable. The highlight is the breakfast buffet. Amazing stuff. Location-wise, you’re fairly close to most spots; the Retiro and Prado are a mere 10 min walk. We will definitely be back here when in Madrid."

"We arrived and our room was not the one we booked, the door was broken and looked nothing like the pictures. They offered to move us to a better room like the one in the picture for 60 more euro. We paid and once again it was terrible, another broken door, the ac and fan didn’t work and while the room did have a view this time, the closet was broken, the door and locks were broken and the walls were paper thin. I’d steer clear from this place, there are better places for the same price."
