"We had the most incredible honeymoon at Maria Del Mar! Our concierge Santiago helped us to create an amazing itinerary and adapted for us as we made changes! They also recommended a wonderful taxi driver, Armando, who graciously took us to each excursion and offered expert advice to help us enjoy as much as possible :) Edgar, Enrique, and Sergio at the front desk were always ready to chat and help if needed. "Loved the rustic look of the rooms with all the creature comforts included (AC, mini fridge, hot water, etc.). The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and the food was great, both in the hotel and in nearby restaurants. There are convenience stores, pharmacies, ATMs and currency exchange offices within walking distance. We had a lovely stay, very unfortunate that the sargassum kept us from the beach, but that's not the hotel's fault."

"The apartment was dirty and dusty. We were 3 people and didn’t get the 2 bedroom apartment because we wanted the one that had the private hot tub in the balcony which only had one bedroom and when we got in the place to be able to relax the hot tub was dirty and broken and I told them and they wouldn’t send anybody to come fix it. Also the dishes were dirty and the sink in the kitchen barely had water to wash dishes, the water in the shower was like salt water terrible, and no where to find...

"The food here was very overpriced for the mediocre quality, especially breakfast. The sargassum on the beach was creating an unpleasant odor. I understand that it is impossible to control nature however if there would have been minimal effort by staff a lot of it could have been cleaned up and the beach could have been enjoyable. The service received while at the beach was poor. In sum I don’t think I would stay here again. "
